[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A family member bought one and couldn't rave enough about it. I was due to have my carpets cleaned and knew if I bought this carpet cleaner it would be cheaper than a professional, plus, I'd own the machine and can use it when needed. I was shocked, yes, shocked at the dirt that came out of my carpet. I thought I vacuumed well but I see I don't. I followed directions for cleaning, rinsing and drying. Even the rinse water was a little dirty. I plan on cleaning the carpet again next month to see what the water looks like.

It's effective and easy to use. Also big and heavy with the full water tank, so not for stairs.
I have had one month about, and the machine is not sucking up the water, this is the second one we have bought the first one lasted along time spinScrub 50 Heated less expensive then the smartwash, I am very disappointed in the smartwash because it is not sucking up the water & doesn't heat near as well as 50. Now I have a floor with wet carpet without extraction, what next mold because this machine failed.
I purchased my vacuum in February 2019. It is a life changing machine when it comes to carpet cleaning. However, yesterday it made a loud squeaking noise and now the brushes will not spin. Unlike a dyson where you can take it completely apart, virtually none of this vacuum is accessible for troubleshooting.
Happy to have bought this smarty washer. Ergonomically good design making it easy to operate and it cleans well. Just make sure to give it a thorough clean every after use. Very good investment.
I recently purchased my 4th Hoover product because I have never had a problem with them over the years. I instantly fell in love with my SmartWash. It was an extreme upgrade from my old Hoover carpet cleaner. About 3 months after I bought it the belt broke. I had no clue as to where my receipt was so I just knew I was screwed. I searched the internet and could not find one company who sold the belt. I ran across a blog and found someone with the same issue. They were informed to contact Hoover. I used the address that was posted on the blog and email this person at Hoover. Within 24 hours I was contacted. He never mentioned a receipt. He asked for my address and phone number and said he'd have a replacement on the way. He was not referring to a replacement belt. He was sending me a whole new unit. I was very skeptical until one showed up on my front porch about 5 days later. I was speechless! Hoover stands behind their product. If I ever need another vacuum or carpet cleaner it'll be nothing but a Hoover!

This product cleans GREAT. However, on 5th use, it's leaking solution down the back onto the power cord, and all over the floor. A sudsy mess. I'm extremely disappointed with this. I bought a "quality" product that is failing. It's essentially brand new. What gives??!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
