The Hoover Smartwash is so much better than out last steam cleaner (Bissel). It is easier to clean, to fill, and you don't have to mix. It moves well, cleans well, and does not oversoak the carpet. It absorbs the water better.

I was going to spend another $300 to have carpets professionally cleaned but decided to purchase this SmartWash Carpet Cleaner instead. No regrets! Cleans just as good if not better than the professionals and it is lightweight and easy to use, no mixing and easily comes apart for cleaning. I didn't even pretreat the pet stains and they came right out with the first pass. So satisfying! 5 star customer service too - my first unit was leaking solution so I emailed the company to ask how to remedy the problem and they sent me a brand new one in just a couple of days. Just ordered another SmartWash for our local library when I heard they were going to spend $800 to clean their carpets, they were sold on it when I showed them how well it worked.

This little machine is absolutely amazing and a dream to use and clean. I honestly can't recommend it enough. We have a late 80s home that we bought years ago that has 2400sf of 80s carpet to go with it. Eventually we'll rip it all out (can't wait) but in the meantime I had been using my old, very heavy and hard to maneuver carpet cleaner to clean the carpets. I was horrified at what the smartwash pulled out of the carpets and will need to go over them several more times to remove everything but wow does this thing work! It's lightweight and I love how simple it is to use. Seriously as easy as using a vacuum. I love how I don't have to hold down a trigger to dispense the cleaning solution which always results in my hand hurting. I love how it mixes the solution for you and takes the guess work out of mixing the proper solution to water ratio. I love the light indicator that tells me it's washing or drying and I love the dry only function to get that extra water out. It's also a breeze to clean thanks to everything being clear. Above all I love how clean this makes my carpets and highly recommend!

What the stair attachment. If Hoover made a machine specifically for the stairs, I would definitely buy it.
