Purchased with reservations about leaking and bad brush bearings. But after trying it, I'm impressed. Cleans well. Easily disassembles for cleaning. One very annoying thing. When attaching the filled cleaning solution tank, cleaning solution flows easily out making a mess both putting on and taking off. A real pain!!!

Worked for a couple months and broke

Had this machine for a few months. Worked ok to begin with. Nothing overly special about it. Went to use the machine the other morning. Heard a high pitch whine and then the brushes stopped working. Turned the machine off and inspected to see if the brushes were blocked. They weren't. After some more inspecting the belt that rotates the brushes had already worn out. For something that is supposed to be built to last awhile this cleaner did not. Would not recommend this to anyone.

I have dogs, a granddaughter and cream colored carpeting, so cleaning carpet is not some thing that's new to me. My previous cleaner of another brand just gave up mid-cleaning last night. I went to the store this morning and had planned to purchase a different Hoover model but when I saw the double scrubber brush bars on this one, I had high hopes and spent the extra money. But, it didn't do much to actually clean. After the first round, I could visually see where the old machine stopped and the new one continued, the latter area still a grey. The problem, as I evaluate it, is how little water is dispensed...even moving slowly (snails pace). There just has to be something wrong with this! I used less than a gallon of water on my carpet. That might sound great, but my living room has about 250-300 sq ft of carpet accessible/needing to be cleaned (center area of room-around the furniture). That's less than 1 tablespoon per square foot. In all fairness, I went over it two more times (the complete area) and it's better, but who wants to do the same area three times?! It's going back to the store!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple design features make this cleaner easier to use

It the automatic push forward clean, and pull back dry are brilliant and the dry button mack the process even better. The self mixing of cleaning solution with the ability to just remove the solution container for rinsing eliminates so much extra work. filling and emptying the clean water and extraction water is easy. Learn where the carry hand is. The brush rollers are effective on pet hair and very, very easy to clean. All this wouldn't matter if it didn't deliver results. Amazingly it does. My only criticism is the cord is out the bottom and back of unit and if not kept in hand is easy to step on. (It should be at top of base unit with the ability to shift right or left depending on your preferred hand.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This seems to be a great purchase. I've cleaned all the carpet in the house. It does a great job extracting dirt and it doesn't take long to dry with the dry only feature. I've also done my sectional, steps, & carpet in our cars.

Upholstery cleaner doesn't work

The machine itself works great, however, I tried using the upholstery attachment for the first time and it does not prime, it just drips water for a second and then stops.
