Cleaned my carpets but broke after using it one time. A small spring broke off the clear cover to the brush heads after only one use. I was still able to clean my carpets but could not properly secure the cover to the brushes. Returned for a refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this within the last month. Received it very quickly. Have used it twice so far. Like it's light weight and ease of filling both soap and water compartments. Emptying dirty water compartment is easy, as well. What I don't like is having to clean the brush area out each time I stop to empty dirty water compartment. Having 2 dogs probably one reason for this, as well as this being the first time carpet has been cleaned! It is easy to open up cover and take brushes out to clean, but is something that has to be done several times. Also don't like that it takes quite a bit of rinsing after having used the rug shampoo. Seems to take several fillings of water compartment to get to where soap no longer showing up in dirty water compartment. Even though the machine is easy to use, it is very time consuming and tiring to use. Having never used a carpet cleaning machine before, I really don't have any way to compare to past experience with any other machine. Overall, am pretty pleased with it and would recommend other folks try it out.

Recently purchased this cleaner and could not be happier with it. The auto clean feature is fantastic. We have an elderly chocolate lab and needless to say our carpets are taking the brunt of it....... I have used this machine on all the carpets in our house and they look Great!!! The dry only feature leaves the carpet nearly dry. The machine comes apart easily for cleaning as well. If you are looking for a well priced well built machine this is it!!

I purchased the item a few months ago after several weeks of searching for a simple, powerful and effective product as carpet cleaning is not a simple task. I never imagined that it could be so easy to set up within minutes by just adding the water and cleaning solution with no mixing.. When I pushed the machine forward on heavy traffic carpet that had not been cleaned in a long time, I never imagined that I would see carpet come so clean that fast. I love the indicator lights showing that it is cleaning when pushing forward and drying when be pulled backward. A button allows you to dry only any surface area when needed. Within minutes, the cleaned area was ready for use. .Clean-up of the machine was a breeze. I no longer dread the thought of carpet cleaning. Thanks Hoover for created such a simple machine to use.
