I bought mine a month ago. Impressive ease to use. Deep cleaning and great suction to leave carpets drier. Shocked to see how poorly previous shampoo machines had cleaned the carpets. My new Hoover removed so much dirt I was amazed. The carpets look brighter and feel softer. I am so happy with my purchase.

My carpet looks great, I especially love the dry only feature as I went over heavy traffic areas several times causing more than normal wetness. Dry feature pulled up all excess water. My carpet was completely dry the next morning.

Used on my area rugs and wall to wall carpets.Unit very easy to use, instruction guide very detailed. I wish the instruction guide would give more specific information when using the unit (guide says "move very slowly") but I would have found something more specific helpful (i.e. 3 seconds every 5 feet of forward motion to dispense cleaner, 5 seconds of backward motion for every 5 feet to take up cleaning solution). That being said, the machine worked very well and was easy to take apart and clean when I was done with all the carpets. Very pleased with this purchase, would recommend to friends. Unit costs less than one whole-house carpet cleaning, so it's very economical.

I love that the machine is very easy to maneuver. However, there's no option to only have the machine disperse water or nothing at all when its pushed forward. So you have to fill the compartment with only water. I did find that I had to empty the compartments more frequently than I had to w/my prior Hoover.

Hi MsCleanFreak, thank you for reviewing the Hoover SmartWash+ Automatic Carpet Cleaner. For best results, we recommend rinsing the carpet with clean water only. This will remove residual carpet cleaning solution from your carpets. To Rinse with clean water only, remove the Solution Tank and then slowly move forward. The unit will automatically dispense the optimal amount of water. Slowly pull backward. The unit will automatically dry your carpets by extracting the water. When your cleaning is complete and you want to reduce the dry time, press the Dry Only button. The Dry Only mode will extract remaining water from your carpet. Continue in this mode until little water is visibly passing through the nozzle. We hope this helps! Thanks, Cierra -The Hoover Team
