I love that the machine is very easy to maneuver. However, there's no option to only have the machine disperse water or nothing at all when its pushed forward. So you have to fill the compartment with only water. I did find that I had to empty the compartments more frequently than I had to w/my prior Hoover.

Hi MsCleanFreak, thank you for reviewing the Hoover SmartWash+ Automatic Carpet Cleaner. For best results, we recommend rinsing the carpet with clean water only. This will remove residual carpet cleaning solution from your carpets. To Rinse with clean water only, remove the Solution Tank and then slowly move forward. The unit will automatically dispense the optimal amount of water. Slowly pull backward. The unit will automatically dry your carpets by extracting the water. When your cleaning is complete and you want to reduce the dry time, press the Dry Only button. The Dry Only mode will extract remaining water from your carpet. Continue in this mode until little water is visibly passing through the nozzle. We hope this helps! Thanks, Cierra -The Hoover Team

I bought this a couple of months ago. I have a puppy and loads of puppy messes (trying to house break him). Unfortunately, not housebroken and too many messes. I use my SmartWash at least three times a week. It's easy to use, not too heavy and cleans up rather quickly. I absolutely could't do without this cleaner. It''s excellent and saves me a lot of aggravation. I totally recommend this carpet cleaner.

I have only had the chance to use this for one room of carpet. My carpet was pretty bad, and the cleaner gave it new life. I like that you can go over the cleaned area with just water in order to "rinse" the carpet.

I love this machine. I would marry it if I could!! Seriously, though, they thought of everything. I simply push and pull-no squeezing a soap/water button (with my arthritis, this is a PLUS); carpet shampoo dispenser is separate-no more measuring and mixing; separate clean and dirty water co receptacles (hallelujah!!); the intake comes off with the touch of a finger, and snaps back on just as easily, AND the brushes slide out and back in with ZERO hassle-no screwdrivers and hunting down screws to take apart and clean the water intake and brushes and figure out how to put them back in correctly (this is a crazy big deal-so so so much easier!!!). I've owned several carpet cleaners over the years and this is the best yet. Oh, by the way, it cleans superbly!!! What a great bargain this machine is!! Thank you, Hoover!! I'd marry you, too, if I could!!
