I was very pleased at the quality of this carpet cleaner. It was very easy to assemble with a precise manual and labeled parts. I cleaned an old carpet in one room and the stair attachment did a great job on an 18 yr old carpeted stairs. It is a great deal for the price!

I am very pleased with my new shampooer. Our new home has sliding doors from our bedroom to our backyard and my husbands guide dog loves going in and out. Really, no thinking behind your floor cleaning. It's so easy to use that a young teen can use it. I have it 4 stars for the fact that any hair that a vacuum doesn't pick up, the washer will, but all the remnants get stuck in the suction tube, which is somewhat difficult to get out. Overall, so far, it's worth the purchase.

I love the push pull water release on its on. Easy to maneuver and easy clean up. Only cleaned one room to test it out and the carpet is so clean like a professional cleaned it. I highly recommend you invest in your own cleaner.

I (thought I) posted a negative review about the SmartWash I recently purchased. The first time I used it, yesterday, it was working fine until I emptied the dirty water and then after that, the suction wasn't right and it wasn't pulling up enough water and was leaking pretty badly. I was all set to return it ASAP until I saw how great my carpet looked this morning. It hasn't been this clean in years with the Dual V Widepath that I thought was doing an amazing job until it died after 10 years of use. I was so excited about how easy my SmartWash was to clean yesterday that I figured I must've either gotten a defective one or didn't reconnect something correctly. The latter must've been the case because now the suction is right and there is virtually no leaking when it's not being run. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase and if it were possible, I would give it 10 stars. I'm so relieved that I didn't return it and gave it another chance!!! Hoover did an amazing job on this--it is as if they took the Dual V Widepath and corrected everything that was wrong and named it SmartWash. A BREEZE to clean in every way, functions are a breeze as well. The only improvement that would make this any better would be if they could figure out how to make the cord retractable! ;0)
