Worst Machine Ever

I am 62 years old and having been sewing since I was 13. I have owned two Kenmore sewing machines, both gave exceptional service and required very little maintenance. This machine has not worked correctly since I unboxed it. The bobbin thread is hard to pickup, stitches either bunch or skip. I have tried all of the troubleshooting suggested. I have threaded and rethreaded and even wound a new bobbin on a brand new spool and it still malfunctions.

Frustrating Machine

This Model has lots of difficulty with the bobbin tangling to the point where it will snag or tear fabric. May not know this is happening until too late. I've done some research and found out this model has this issue. It has a noisy clanky sound in use whether tangling or not. The bobbin loosens while in short use. Keep having to adjust it. The navigation through the stitch selection is not easy. Example: Stitch pattern number selects by double up arrows on left. With two up buttons 1-9 on right and numbers in 10's on left It doesn't always land on what I may be selecting and need to try loop again and again. In reading about this I found this model was recommended for beginners. Is this because you spend a lot of time trouble shooting with the manual?? There was a some small projects I got out of it and that's it. I would not recommend this model.

My breaking needles 5400

Sorry, my riview is not so good. My son bought me this machine to make some projects but I have so many problems with it that I stop my projects for a while. The last thing is that the machine broke the needles and only function with num 16. I consulted many forums to see what I'm doing wrong but no results with the new machine.

I had bought this machine a few years back and the bobbin came out of wack twice. 1st time I paid way more then i bought the machine for to have it fixed. Second time I bought a new one. And the new one just a few months old, and only used twice and it has done it again! Not buying another!!!

This was my first sewing machine and I have gotten so much out of it. The ease of learning the machine was great and the number of projects that I was able to do with this machine was great . There are so many pre-programmed stitches and for the beginner sewer I think this is an excellent machine to start off with.
