I've been using this machine on and off for about a year, no more than two to three days in a row for a few hours. I only have a problem with the bobbin. I can't so anything without the thread bunching and getting the C4 error. Don't waste your money on this.

Dear Sad, sorry you are having problems with your 5400. In most cases thread bunching in the bobbin case area is an upper threading or tension issue. The C4 error could be related to the thread jamming. Have you called Consumer Services for troubleshooting assistance? We would be happy to assist you. Was kind of "taken in" by the words "automatic threader." Not automatic! I have not been able to use this feature since purchasing the machine a month ago. Have to use a magnifying glass to be able to see to thread the machine. I suggest Singer change the wording here. No other problems. Still finding my way around it.

I got this puppy for Christmas 2013 and finally got around to opening it...(I own another machine).. I wish I had started using it right away! This is my first electronic sewing machine and I was a bit wary of it..lol..silly me. Anyhoo, the ease of using it and all that it can do...I'm either selling or giving away my older machine to my daughter!..

Buttonhole attachment

The buttonhole attachment does not work with this machine. It’s frustrating, I have worked with many machines and this is the only one that says it has a buttonhole feature that does not work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very disappointed!

Nothing but skipped stitches and error codes and I've tried everything. Regret buying this machine. I will never buy a computerized machine again. Should have bought a mechanical machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
