While driving home from a class at Joann's Super Store, I had the machine in its case in the trunk of my car. When I opened it up I noticed that the upright spool holder was bent. It broke off so I glued it back on with Super Glue. It seems Ok but I have not really put it to the test. Also have not been able to use the self-threading feature without someone else's help. I am used to my mother's WWII-era machine!
I sew custom draperies, and some of the design are too delicate for my industrial machine, but this singer heavy duty machine is perfect for those type of project, I also do a lot of crafts that require a smaller but strong machine that this machine is perfect for that also. this was the best investment I have made in a long time.
Pros: Can Withstand Use, Easy To Use, Good Power Output, Mobile, Versatile, very user friendly and light weight
I have been sewing basics for a approximately two years. I am part of a Christian Ministry that donates items to communities needs and this machine has made sewing much easier. It sews straight lines pretty much by itself.
I bought this machine because it has metal parts. I can hem denim jeans, but it also does a fine job with light weight materials. It is not overly complicated. I really love it!
