Right now I am sewing masks for my fellow workers. My old machine was going on 50 years old and it just would not go through multiple layers of clothing. This machine glides through. I made a mask for my husband that was made from tough outdoor fabric and the machine had no trouble with it.

Great machine, except for one thing

I love this machine and I use it constantly. I have run into one problem. The machine advertises that you can sew fast with it, but if I do, the upper tension messes up and I have to pick out the stitches, rethread the machine and start over. As long as I remember not to sew too fast, there are no problems. It really is heavy duty, and for the price, it's an excellent choice.

I just recently purchased this machine and absolutely could not be more pleased. It is easy to use, strong, and its stitches beautifully. Even though it is heavier, I think this machine will be the new featherweight as far as quilters are concerned.

I'm new to sewing and a friend had recommended this as a starter machine for a novice and it's perfect: easy to use, intuitive, and with all the basic features I need. It's also lightweight and has a handle on top so it can be moved and stored away easily. The dust cover that comes with it is extremely flimsy, however. You should tear its seams and use its pattern to sew a new one as your first project on this machine.

Love it. I do a lot of basic work, nothing fancy. It is very easy to use, sturdy and dependable. The only thing I would say is it does not take large cone spools of thread, so I have to use a separate thread holder for this. Not really an issue. I am loving it!
