I don't have any experience with sewing machine, so getting everything set up was a bit involved because I was starting from zero. It would be nice if Singer did longer tutorials for when you first receive your machine, but regardless. The machine is powerful, sews beautifully and works fabulously on my denim which is what I mostly need the machine for. I can't wait to sew all kinds of things with it. I recommend this and I am so glad I waited for it to come back in stock instead of settling for the 4411 which was in stock. The 4452 has the automatic needle threading, accessories and more stitch options so it is worth iT

This was my second heavy duty sewing machine I bought. The first one was many years ago and it was getting weak and making lots of noise. I am sewing very much for gifts and patchwork. I know I got my miles out of that machine. Happy to have a new one.
I'm from Germany and bought my first Singer machine over 50 years ago; great products, was not as happy with other brand machines.

Heavy Duty 4452 sewing machine

I’m not a professional but I do enjoy sewing in my spare time. My mom and sister are seamstresses so, I learned a few things watching them. These are just a few of the features that I love on the Heavy Duty 4452. It has all the bells and whistles, easy to change presser foot, bobbin drops in and so many different stitches. I’m loving it! My only issues are 1) the pedal is a bit cheesy, it’s made of light weight plastic instead of metal. 2) It only comes with a quick guide so, if you really need to figure out a feature on the machine you have to download and print the manual online. Other than that, I love it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

3rd time SINGER was junk out of the box

8 years ago, after moving away from my parents I purchased a singer. Right out of the box it had tension problems. I exchanged it 2 times and had the same issue so I went to another brand. I decided to go back to SINGER because I wanted a heavy duty simple machine. I get home and after doing 2 test lines the timing was off and it started skipping stitches. I know it was the timing because I changed the thread, changed the bobbin, changed the needle, made sure it was clean (which is was being brand new). I am SUPER disappointed in SINGER. If you are a serious sewer or quilter spend your money elsewhere.

we are a nonprofit- The Makers Hub. And we have a Tool lending library in the city of compton and a small Makerspace. These heavy duty singers are wonderful, easy for students to learn on , rarely bind up, and we just love them. They Are our favorites. I wish we could get some more, So we can replace some of our Other types of machines that were donated.

Singer 4452

I received my Singer 4452 in just a few days of ordering it once it was in stock and I was so happy because I’ve been waiting to get this particular machine for a few months since Covid hit but they were sold out. I didn’t want to buy it from some 3rd party either. So, I unboxed my machine and got it all set; read the directions and through the manual to learn about all the bells and whistles of this machine just to plug it and and the feed would not work properly. The machine itself was very loud and seemed like it was struggling to work. I returned it and will be ordering another machine that hopefully works better. Fingers crossed.

18 month life + poor support from Singer

Bought my HD4452 in March of 2021. Worked great for a while. This machine has less than 15 hours on it, but quit functioning properly; skipped stitches, birds nest on bottom of stitch, etc. I'm using Singer needles, thread and bobbins. The tension is set properly. The bobbin works as it should, the needle doesn't always pick up the thread. Seems like timing, right? nope, I had to remove the plate to clear the birds nest and observed the "hook". Timing was spot on and picks up the thread without the plate, but mostly won't with the plate back on.
OK, a product may have an issue, it happens, but here's what I discovered:
The warranty only covers "mechanical" for 90 days.
Singers web site shows a repair/warranty center in Southern California "Singer Sewing Center of Orange County", that relocated, dropped Singer from it's name, and no longer sells or advertises warranty services for Singer products.
Singer Customer Care provided this response:
"Robert,
They are a small location and if everyone is with customers or working on machines, they do not get to the phones. Sometimes the voice mail gets full and you will get some unusual recording that it is no longer a working number. The location is still one of our warranty centers. I would encourage you to keep trying. They are closed on Mondays. I am sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced.
You will need to have your purchase receipt and fill out the attached form when taking your machine to be repaired.
Thank you for choosing Singer."
So keep trying a location that moved, dropped Singer from their name, stopped selling or advertising Singer products and services, and sells competitor products, and is too small or busy to help you anyway? Really?
Seems Singer is headed the way of Montgomery Wards, Sears, and a host of other companies no longer in business. Once the standard for sewing, my experience is the stanard of how NOT to provide Customer Care.
