Strong machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We really love this machine. Very easy setup, my wife was sewing in no time. She loves the table extension, and all the included feet and accessories. Another big hit is the built in needle threader. She was very pleased to be able to sew heavy fabrics and in over an hour, did not break a thread. The only concerns she has is the handle for lifting the presser foot is plastic. It has not been a problem, but is worth noting. Also, the power cord and cord to foot pedal could be longer. Sewing on a dining room table, the pedal just reached the floor. Overall a great versatile machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our family loves this Singer heavy-duty sewing machine. We have had three sewing machines in the past and this is, by far, our favorite. It does heavier items like denim and all of the kids blue jeans. It comes with an extension table that is very convenient in giving you more room for sewing. It comes with all the extra accessories and needles and has a strong metal frame. It is very easy in threading, with extra high sewing speed and very strong piercing power. This is a high quality, heavy-duty machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a Heavy Duty machine as the name states. Denim buttons any fabric this does it. Singer name is synonymous with been the leader in the sowing industry. This machine literally does it. The setup is pretty simple. The biggest factor that might posse an issue is make sure you purchase good quality thread. This will eliminate 98% of any possible problems. I found out cheap thread and you have a world of issues. The machine with everything needed to start sowing. I am no pro my wife is better than I am this is my first time using a machine to sew and I found setting it up with the instructions provided was very easy. I just did a basic pillow case and it was easy. due to having an excellent machine. Loading the bob setting the needle, for a novice this was easy to do.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does everything I need and more!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this primarily for fixing my jeans, shorts, dog toys and dog beds. The dog stuff is easy enough since the material isn't very thick but the shorts and jeans really put my old machine to work having to go through several layers. It wasnt fun or easy at all. But now, I'll do jeans all day! This machine glides through several layers of thick material like its warm butter! I'm beyond impressed! I've already hemmed up several shorts that ripped along the knees, patched some jeans and replaced I dont even know how many broken zippers that my last machine couldn't do. I love this machine and I cant believe I'm this excited about patching up old clothes and fixing ripped dog toys. I highly recommend this machine, you wont regret it.

Very Misleading use of "Heavy Duty"

Two of these 4452 machines broke on me in less than the first two months of use. I was simply sewing hook and loop material on to polyester strap webbing. There is actually nothing heavy duty about sewing these types of materials except the are a little thick. I chose to use a #18 leather needle because that type of needle has a cutting top which would make it easier on the machine. They still broke dispute the extra precautions I took to protect the machines. I was even hand turning the stitches over strap layers and using the Singer so called walking foot. Their walking foot is not a walking foot. Using the term walking foot to describe this foot is simply misleading as well as the term "Heavy Duty". At best, this machine should be described as robust home sewing and definitely not "Heavy Duty".
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don’t buy

I bought this 2 months ago and it completely stopped working the other day. I called singer to see what can be done about this and how to warranty it however I was told that “you don’t live near a warranty centre therefore nothing can be done.” Ridiculous for the price especially since the machine was well taken care of and properly oiled. Will not be purchasing a singer machine again.

Major Dissapointment

I have had singers for a very long time, 15-1's, industrials 111w155 but today I bought a 4452 and the thing was so out of time that I stitched a straight stich about 8 inches long and then it all went down hill fast, out of time, feed dogs not moving the material stitch selector dial unable to rotate to a selected stitch....I was so tuned into enjoying my new singer but my excitement of it features and supporting another singer product was destroyed....tried to get some tech supportto explain all of this and all I got was " chat" from a singer chat box robot...groan!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
