I originally purchased this machine to repair my work pants (I work construction so this was more cost effective than buying new pants all the time). I wanted something capable of regularly sewing through multiple layers of 12oz canvas. The machine rarely struggles and I have had zero issues for the three years I have owned it. Compared to the average user, I don't sew very often (about once a month) but this machine has a good variety of stitches and has yet to let me down.
Repairing Jeans, I'm a stone cutter and go through jeans quickly, this machine makes these repairs easy.

Purchased this sewing machine to replace my precious one. I've been sewing since the late 1950's, always with Singer. My new machine meets my sewing needs. It's cost was great. Good machine for general sewers.
I have been sewing basics for a approximately two years. I am part of a Christian Ministry that donates items to communities needs and this machine has made sewing much easier. It sews straight lines pretty much by itself.
This machine is as advertised and easily sews over many layers of fabric. A fantastic price for a Singer, known for quality machines. I wanted something basic, as I enjoy hand embroidery and didn't want too many stitches. It has more than enough for my needs.

One of the best machines I've owned since my old Treadle Singer.(Which I still have, by the way.).
