I bought this because I was having trouble with my older one and the only trouble I'm having now, when sewing- the underneath string(bobbin) is bunching up, everything is correct... what am I doing wrong? I know it's not the machine it's me LOL the operator, but definitely love the durability strong yet lightweight I started today open my Singer, and have already made five grocery sack holders for my Halloween vending event
I’ve only had the machine two weeks, and done a few simple projects. I used to sew an occasional dress or skirt but haven't used a machine for decades. It feels very good to have a sewing machine again. This machine is very easy to use. Very easy to fill the bobbin and thread the needle with the automatic needle threader. Very nice stitching. Love the variety of stitches and the ways you can adjust the lengths etc. Very nice to have the seam ripper and other accessories included. Easy to take the foot off, easy foot pedal. Love the included deck. The machine is lightweight but seems sturdy. (I could barely lift my mother's old machine.) All adjustments are there in front of me, easy to see. So I can't speak to durability. I hope to get many good years out of this machine. I'm not a quilter but this machine looks good for that purpose, so maybe I'll try it. Not so great: there is glare on the chrome metal plates from the machine's light, which makes it hard to see the needle area, hard to read the edge guide. I use a little task light on it to see better. Also I couldn't find a manual online for this model, and had to download and print out the manual for a similar model. Took me twenty minutes to print out to avoid printing the foreign language pages. They should include a printed manual with the machine. They do include a printed quick start guide which is very useful, but the manual provides much more info. For example, I just couldn't get the threader to work til I read the manual and said, ah ha, that's how it works. For all the benefits, accessories and attributes, I think this machine is a very good bargain at the price.
I absolutely love this machine. I have no sewing ability and a very weak sense of style - that said, my daughter and I have been delighted with this machine since we received it, and I am quite confident that we will have assembled a t-shirt by week's end.
If you (like me!) are a suburban mom who's always aspired towards craftiness, I HIGHLY recommend this machine. It will bring you closer to both your child and your latent supermom desires
Awesome. Smooth sewing, easy to use, its perfect!@ It is exactly what I needed and it works for me. I am remodeling a RV and this machine sews through all types of heavy material.
I bought a Singer after owning Kenmore and Brother sewing machines for 40 years. Its a good machine, has a lot of power, can sew through multiple layers of fabric with ease which is what I was looking for. The only downside is the sewing table is smaller than what I had expected. It's about 3 inches shorter in length and 2 inches in width which may not seem much but is a necessity when working with large projects. I guess manufacturer has to cut cost somewhere!
