I bought this humidifier about a month ago for our bedroom and am very happy with it. We run it all night long on low and it is very quiet. It has a large enough capacity that I only have to refill it once a week, but you have to be patient when filling the containers because the opening are small. I was glad to see that it was made in the USA and would recommend it

Helped my eyes!

I have used this humidifier for over a year now. We heat with wood. My eyes have felt like sand paper lined my lids. My Eye Dr. said I had dry eyes. After using the Vornado evaporative humidifier my Dr. said my dry eye was gone. My scratchy eyelids were gone. My eyes feel so much better! I have five dogs so go through the filters probably faster than most but the benefit is worth it. I highly recommend this humidifier.

SILENCE. This is the quietest fan I’ve never heard.
CONSUMABLES. Wick is all wick, no frame/structure/waste.
HEALTH. Treated wicks, no bacteriostat to buy
MAINTENANCE. NO moving parts besides fan
Visible water level, anti-scale water treatment is encouraged
CONSTRUCTION. The bottles constitute end walls of a small, light structure.
Simple design reduces material waste

I’m so glad I got this humidifier a few weeks ago. I can’t believe how simple it is with only 4 parts. I placed it near the return air for the central heating/air conditioner and it works great. The only feature that I wish it had was an indicator when it is out of water.

Best humidifier!

This is our second winter to use this humidifier. I love the large capacity tanks, and that it leaves no white film on everything. The tanks are easy to fill and replace. We are on the third set of filters, so the filters have last several months. We had no problem ordering replacement filters. This is a great product.

I bought this a month ago. It works well and is not noisy on medium or low speed. I wish there was some indication when the tanks are empty. The machine stays on even with no water, so it is necessary to pull out the tanks to see if they still have water. The tanks get heavy when full. Also the tanks are awkward to remove for refilling.

Can it be near? How can you justify not buying it??
Simply from an electrical perspective: a heating element is a short circuit. A toaster. A resistor. It is the objective least efficient use of electrons.
A fan has a resonant speed, where power is optimized. Using the technology of wicking sponges this thing does things more efficiently than Tony Stark’s heart.

My family owns two, and both running strong

My parents got one of these as a wedding gift a long time ago, and it still works! My mom got another one though, and so the old one is a backup but we probably won't need it for that. Looking at other reviews, people were saying the fan is impossible to get to, and, uh, no it isn't, because there's screws on the underside of the fan going around which you can loosen and remove to get to the fan and clean it (yours may not have them but both Evap40s that we have do [20-30 years b/w them], sooooo....). The fans in both have never needed oil which is surprising to me since c frame motors usually need oil so that's a big thing too. The tanks glugging is pretty annoying, but I get used to it. It is a very quiet fan, even on high, which is a comfortable loud (I have fans smaller than the Evap40s and those are way louder). Hopefully this review helps others who are looking into buying one, and yes the wicks can get cleaned (pretty sure it explains it in the instructions). Also, the humidifier fan has a slow spin down, but I'm pretty sure it's the blade- The blade's pitch is very steep for max air output, and the 5303DC I have has ball bearings and the motor takes a long time to stop, but with the blade it stops quickly. It's called air resistance hence why deep pitch blades stop faster than shallow pitch blades. Anyway, thanks Vornado for making a great humidifier which I think will go 5-10 years past the warranty.
