The best humidifier in the market!

We moved to a condo building 10 years ago that does not have humidification. We have tried 3 kinds of humidifiers, this one is BY FAR the best humidifier, the others pale in comparison in many ways. My only regret is it took me so long to find it. I can count on one hand the number of product reviews I have ever written, so I feel pretty strongly about this product. I purchased 2 Vornado fans years ago and they still work, so I know Vornado is a quality company. The top reasons for the 5 stars: 1. It provides humidification as advertised. 2. It is easy to fill, and the large capacity means I usually fill one side every day. 3. It is SUPER EASY TO CLEAN!!!!!!! 4. The filters last just about a month and are reasonably priced. PLEASE don't discontinue this model.

Amazing

I was getting a bloody nose from how the dry air was in our new house. I bought a regular humidifier at the hardware store, but that wasn’t making a dent. The problem is that both my office and our bedroom were upstairs and had tall ceilings. It just couldn’t put out water fast enough, esp with the heater running. Then I bought the Evap40 and was shocked that it got the relative humidity from 35% to 48% in just a couple of hours. More importantly, it stayed there, even after turning it down to low speed. It does make a glug-glug noise at night, but it’s totally worth it to end the bloody nose. Highly recommend.

Water tanks are impossible to clean well-quite heavy when full but I mastered the facilitation of placing them in the unit without mishap; our water has a level of iron that left a film I can't scrub off; the glugging of water as water evaporates is something we became accustomed to; I have since put it away, actually, and am using a small warm mist humidifier which does not measure up to this unit with regard to adding moisture to the air.

Doesn't control humidity

I like the design, it's pretty quiet and seems to add humidity pretty well, but it doesn't maintain humidity at a set level. 39% 67%. It's a crap shoot. I want to rely on this thing to keep my music room at a good level for my stringed instruments. My previous Vornado humidifier did a great job and cost less. Disappointed.

Ooops missing filters

I've purchased several of these over the years. Good item. However, recently I was disappointed to discover they no longer come with both filters required for operation. I purchases three of the Evap 40 this month. Each contained only one filter....which means you have to order more filters immediately in order for the units to be used.. I wonder why they changed the pratice of incuding both filters with these units. A trick to get you to buy a filter supply/

Completely ineffective!

I have a open concept living space. No where near 1000 sq feet.
I bought this because of the large capacity & run time.
It DOESN'T WORK! SO DISAPPOINTED!
It has had ZERO impact on the humidity level in my home. Even after running for over 24 hours straight & completing a full to empty water cycle.
It also does not shut off after the water has run completely dry. (HAZARDOUS!)
I bought this thinking it was the solution for my needs. It's a big clunky eye sore that is useless.
I bought this because of the large capacity & run time.

Love This Humidifier

I had a humidifier that didn’t work and replaced it with this one. I love that the water lasts longer than a day and keeps my bedroom comfortably humidified when on. The 2 water containers are easy to fill up and the unit is easy to assemble and disassemble.
