I've been running my new Evap40 for about 3 weeks now. I'm wondering if the filters are supposed to be completely wet. Mine seem to only be wet 1/2 way up and even if I turn the unit on high overnight the humidity doesn't seem to change between using medium and high fan speed. Could mine have a problem?
Have had this unit for about 2 weeks and it is working well. Chosing a humidifier is a daunting task...most don't last long or create problems with leaking and mold and are difficult to clean. So far so good with this one. Need to keep an eye on the filters and make sure they don't get funky....see what happens over time.
Excellent humidifier.... apartment is about 800 square feet and it works very well to get humidity level up and is also very quiet on small or medium fan setting, a bit louder on High setting but its still tolerable and not really necessary to run on "high" very often at all anyway as the output is very strong on Medium setting. Also love that i do not have to fill the tanks up every single day- even using the unit a lot in winter now it only needs to be filled up every 4-5 days.
After receiving the item, I realized that it was not what I expected. I did not use item and sent it back. I expected a humidifier which would work either through ultrasound technology, or heat. This humidifier consists of of a water tank and a fan. This might work for summers in dry areas, but not for winter. Humidifiers are usually used for dry air in winter, and I doubt this item would do the job. The return process was quite easy and the support team was very helpful.
