I got this machine and when I used it for a few days I kept hearing like a knocking noise, so the company sent me another one, same thing happened with that machine also so I sent it back. They sent me a third machine and I still hear that same noise but I'm realizing that it is the water draining from the container into the middle section, didn't think it would be that noisy though. But the machine works wonders for the sinuses. The people have been very helpful in making me a happy customer & friendly.

Good for Larger Apartment

We live in New England and have forced air heating, which inevitably dries everything out. This sucker does a pretty good job at keeping the room at least a bit above 30% on a really cold/dry day and ideally around 40-50 percent on those milder days. Very quiet, reservoir lasts a long time, and maintenance is fairly easy. Pretty cool water filling system too. Haven't spilled more than a couple of drips or two. Even on the high setting it's pretty quiet overall.

After owning three different ultrasonic humidifiers the last few years my greatest lament has been "Why don't they make larger capacity tanks?!?!" Having to fill them twice or three times a day in my climate has been a pain. Thank you for such a large capacity tank, and one that is so easy to fill. Given the size of my main living area I may find myself buying a second unit rather soon. My only wish is that there was an alternative to buying replacement wicking filters. If someone can invent a permanent filter they can make great products like these even better!

Some little difficulties - with the very cold weather the humidifier has a problem, even on high, of keeping good (40's%) humidity, Also when looking at it the right side empties first and later the left side. I changed the receptacles and it was the same. It is the construction of the machine not the containers. Otherwise it is fine.

I love this humidifier because of its simple design. It works fantastic of course, but the lack of easily-damaged digital features make it super reliable. I read other reviews that mentioned they’ve had this model for over 20 years. Our last one was a digital ultrasonic from sharper image. It only made it a few years. This one puts out far more humidity as well. Support Kansas and get yourself one.

I bought an Evap40 three years ago, and it worked great in the master bedroom; ran 16 hours a day. Then the motor started making some noise. I called Vornado, and they replaced the whole unit under warranty, for FREE!
I was so impressed that I bought another one for the other end of the house. It runs 24 hours a day, most days. We live in the High Rockies, and the Rh can be 5% outside in the summertime, so these Vornado units are very good to have.
