Considering this is my fourth humidifier in less than 5 years so far I can say I like this Vornado best. I haven’t owned it very long but am happy with the results & ease of use. Hope it stays that way & best of all it’s made in the USA! The other 3 were from China & I guess I need not say more except that they were totally inferior products.
I bought this hoping it would give me the humidity I wanted in a 1000 SF area. I am not disappointed. I have to turn it off at times since the humidity is too great at times. Still learning where I need to put the humidity level knob. Filters hold up great and construction of the unit is solid.
I heat my home with a woodstove. If you know, then you know. It's also a log home and the moisture just goes away in the wintertime when you have this kind of situation. I have gone through the big box store units, the ultrasonic versions, even the vornado steam unit. This one seems to be the best I have come across. There aren't many frills but the unit is solid, well built and the designer really paid attention to the details when it came to the tanks. While you can't clean them easily (scum build up). There aren't any moving parts, or seals to deal with. You can place them into your kitchen sink and fill them. Don't try to do in a bathroom sink...you could use your tub though. There is plenty of capacity and while it's not the quietest on the market it also isn't very loud. I keep mine on the medium setting most of the time. High when we aren't in the house. I can still have a normal conversation around it while it's on high.
Great job, excellent fit and finish. Very simple and likely I will only have to replace the filters for many, many years as long as I can clean the fan blades!
I've used a lot of humidifiers in my life. I just ordered another one of these for another room. The tanks are super easy to carry and fill, and the unit is easy to clean.
I bought this humidifier as a replacement for a previous Vornado humidifier of the same design. The motor on the old one gave out, and I decided to purchase the same model as a replacement because I've been so impressed with the thoughtful design and ease of maintenance of this model. I've owned a whole procession of unsatisfactory humidifiers of different designs, so I appreciate the fact that this model is easy to clean and the water tanks are easy to slip into position: they essentially seat themselves. It's easy to check the condition of the filters to see when they need to be changed. The unit makes almost no noise when set at low fan speed.
Of all of the humidifiers we've used over the years, this one is the best. The only complaint, a minor one, is that as the water lowers from time to time from the reserve to the pan, it gurgles. Fan on low speed is very quiet, on medium is OK, but high is a bit noisy. Easily brought humidity in a 20' x 25' room from 34 to 45 in a short time.
It’s a humidifier and it works as expected. My old China made crap used to melt the plastic. Was probably putting it into the air. Had to upgrade to American made.
