The Singer Heavy Duty machine lives up to it's name! I've made several hundred masks for First Responders during this COVID crisis using an old sewing machine. How great to have this one that sews over the pleats in the mask without missing a stitch. No more fighting to get the fabric to go thru. Love it. Don't love the small light focused directly on the needle. Don't like the placement or the feel of the reverse switch, but I will get used to that.

I've always had a Singer so my new one is so user friendly bc not much has changed as far as the settings go. I just wanted a more heavy duty machine to sew thru thicker materials and it sews great. I sew things from just patching to clothing and stuffed animals and baby quilts for the grandchildren.

It came just at the right time. I've made over 100 fabric masks during this Coronavirus pandemic. It's working fantastic. Had a sewing machine my whole life after receiving one for high school graduation. When I retired from my postal job after nearly 34 years I moved and decided not to take my sewing machine to my new small apartment and gave it to a co_workers daughter.
