I've always had a Singer so my new one is so user friendly bc not much has changed as far as the settings go. I just wanted a more heavy duty machine to sew thru thicker materials and it sews great. I sew things from just patching to clothing and stuffed animals and baby quilts for the grandchildren.

I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but my Singer that had just died on me had served me very well for 45 years, so I was willing to step out and get this one that fit in my budget. It came just at the right time. I've made over 100 fabric masks during this Coronavirus pandemic. It's working fantastic. I've only used it for about two weeks now, but I'm feeling very optimistic about keeping it around for the rest of my life.
