Spend the extra money to get a better phone!

I bought this phone days after it was released, It worked great for months. Then it started getting super slow so I deleted some apps in order to make it run faster. After I upgraded to 2.2 it became even worse. It started to become even slower and started to freeze on me. Then the power button stopped working when the keyboard was slid out. Now the phone turns off at random and when you slide the keyboard too fast. I wish I would have waited and spent the money on a better phone.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needs Flash Player Compatibility
on April 21, 2011

Samsung you smashed my hopes for this phone when the 2.2 upgrade came around and I was unable to download Adobe Flashplayer because the Intercept wasn't compatible with it. For the amount of money spent on this phone you may as well buy a phone that is able to use Flashplayer.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Durable, decent market apps
Cons: Did not meet expectations, an android that doesn't do much by way of androids
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You'll spend all your time fighting this phone. It's underperformance is only exaggerated by the automatic install of Android 2.2.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, this low range android phones can play flash
Cons: very slow and lots of processor lag, no 3g!!! - just 2g evdo
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very good phone but shuts itself down too often.
on April 23, 2011

I really like this phone, but have found one problem, which is that it tends to shut itself down spontaneously, often several times per day. Since my carrier upgraded the OS to Android 2.2.2 a few days ago, it seems to shut down less (though it still does it) and it reboots itself and generally operates faster than it did with Android 2.1.
The screen display and available apps are great. The keyboard is fairly good, though I've found myself accidentally sending e-mails and texts several times before I intended to (due to some combination of keys that I didn't realize would send the message). The phone sound quality needs some work, but, all in all, it's a very good phone for a reasonable price.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: shuts itself off too often, voice sound quality

Too many bugs with this phone, it freezes up and locks frequently and does not have drivers available for Windows 7 so I'm unable to back it up on my PC.
Pros: Bright display, Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations, force closes too frequently, status bar freezes, cannot connect to pc, no windows 7 drivers
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not a bad starter smartphone

Not a bad starter smartphone... but not a great one either. My phone FINALLY has the Froyo update so instead of an average 5 minute startup, now it takes about 2:45. Freezes a lot less now too :-) Still terrible battery life, and leaving an app to the home screen can take 20 seconds. GPS is weak. WiFi is good. Not too responsive on phone calls but it's better than it was on the Eclair OS. Runs most apps well. Samsung should lighten the proprietary footprint a little to make it run more efficiently/speedier. Next time, I'll get a more expensive phone. Great display - very bright. I have other 800MHz devices than run far faster.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, it's inexpensive and it shows, mfg software makes it run too slow.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
