Best phone I have ever owned!

Phone looks very stylish. Although the screen may not be as bright as some of the more expensive phones, for the price, it looks and works great. I use my intercept for EVERYTHING now like email, IM, calendar, internet radio, grocery lists, and even accessing files that are on my computer when I'm away and a lot more. There are also so many fun apps!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had to give this rating all Five's for the fact that this phone has come so far with me, LOL!! I bought this in August, 2010. I admired what the phone tried to do, yet could not always obtain. After I learned to handle this phone, it was great like my last Samsung phone (a Highlight) in quality/features. This Android 2.1 powered phone was great, then got Android OS 2.2!! EVEN BETTER!! All bugs worked out, highly responsive and a TRUE COMPETITOR TO AN iPHONE! That iPhone 3GS I put to shame 2-3 times a week proudly. Keep it up Samsung!! My previous phone was a Samsung Highlight, my spouses last phone was the Instinct s30and now I have this Intercept. Top name products, Samsung. This is definitely high end performance, OS and bargain for a mid-range price.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, slider, fast processor, optical joystick, android 2.2
Cons: Not high def, no camera flash
I would recommend this to a friend!

ENTRY LEVEL ANDROID PHONE WITH LOT OF ISSUES
on October 21, 2010

I bought this phone approx 2 weeks ago and I am in process of testing it. This phone is on the lower end of Android phones, I currently own another Android phone, that is more advanced with better screen and functions. Samsung Intercept has a lot of issues. The notification bar doesn't work all the time (I have to turn the phone off and on to fix it - sometimes several times a day). Also it is super slow in responding - specially if you use "go back" button. The processor can't handle if more applications are open and there is a huge delay in responding. Screen is not the best either. I also wish, they would install swype keyboard on this phone, however there is just regular Android keyboard with small buttons. Good thing, this phone has another Qwerty keyboard, that will slide out. I tested this phone in SF Bay area and also recently in Atlanta, GA - no problems in all. Just to bad, that the phone is so sluggish and slow. This is my second testing unit, I returned the first unit back, because of many issues with the notification bar. However, it was not a problem of that unit, it is a problem on the entire Samsung Intercept series, probably a software or hardware issue. Also when I turn the phone on, sometimes it freezes, the screen is dark, but all buttons are lit. I have to push and hold the on/off botton for few seconds and restart again. On the plus side - it is an Android phone with tons of apps you can download (no restriction from service provider) and if it is your first Android phone, you will be happy with it. If you are an advanced user - look for different phone!
Pros: Durable, and, no contract, blootooth, price is ok
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations, slow in responding, freezes, software/hardware issues, mediocre screen, notification bar freezes
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dropped calls when call waiting delivers a voicemail

I really like this phone except for one big problem with it and a smaller problem. The small problem is that it sucks a lot of power to send my work email to this phone. I have to plug it in during the day so it doesn't go dead and it is my only phone. The big problem is that when I am talking to people and another call comes in and that person leaves a voicemail, my phone goes black and I lose the call. It is impacting my business. I have dropped calls with reporters and executive directors of other organizations. My husband has this phone as well and it doesn't happen to him. There must be a glitch in the phone somewhere since others seem to be having this issue as well. Please figure out how to solve this problem quickly!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, like a moblie computer
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love my Intercept. It has everything you need to completely utilize the Web. It's great that it has the extra querty keyboard as I always have trouble with the onscreen kind.
The touchscreen responds great. Would buy again.
