It was cheap but did not realize just how cheap. The phone is slow, and freezes up constantly. I have only had it for a couple of weeks and it is absolutely the worst phone i have ever owned. But i cannot afford a good one so i am stuck. Samsung undoubtedly dropped the ball on this one. I hope to eventually be able to buy a different phone out right. Way to go on making a bad phone.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, freezes, have to reset becuase looses signal, slow to respond
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The sprint contract for this phone that is, and I can place this phone on the rail road tracks, set up my Go Pro camera to record what is best for this phone when the train rolls over it.. NO Memory to even think of running apps... smart phone I think not.. my fusic was more dependable. Always have to reboot phone, locks up, cant run apps.. etc..
Pros: Bright display
Cons: junk, 160 mb memory
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst Phone Ever

I really wanted to like this phone. As it turns out, it's by far the worst I've ever used. To say it is frustrating is an understatement.
The problem is its poor response. Frequently during daily use it is unresponsive. Especially after a phone call. It might take five or even fifteen seconds for the controls to respond. This is not acceptable!
I am a self-professed geek; a certified CompTIA A+ computer technician. I work on and repair all makes and models of computers. I embrace technology and understand it. But I do not understand this phone!
I have no interest in "rooting" it either. It should just work! But it does not. And please don't tell me I have "too many programs installed." I don't. In fact, I've done a hard reset on this phone--twice--running only the factory installed programs and STILL it is often unresponsive.
I also find no correlation between what is running in the background and how the phone behaves. Every time I use the device I clear out whatever programs I'm not using at the moment. But it seems this does not help it either. The phone has a mind of its own and it will behave any way it wants to, RAM or no RAM.
My previous phone was a Samsung JACK running Windows. I loved that phone! It never once did what this Intercept does on an hourly basis. I'll assume this is an Android issue and not a Samsung issue.
I regret buying this phone. But I'll keep it until my carrier comes out with another model that I like, then I'm gonna just trash the Intercept. I don't have the heart to sell it to someone else.
Pros: makes a good paperweight.
Cons: unresponsive, slow, hangs
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No One Should Ever Buy This Phone

When I bought this phone, I was really excited because it was my first Android phone. But after using this phone for about 6 months, it is nothing but a piece of trash. It is sooooo slow that I can barely make phone calls! I do not know what Samsung intended when they made this phone because it just made me never want to buy another one of their phones ever again.
The idea of the phone itself is not bad at all, but the actual performance of this phone is a complete disaster! When this phone was advertised with a 800 Mhz processor, I thought it would be a great phone because my friend's phones were 500 Mhz and their phones ran pretty smooth. But to my horror, this phone was a complete let down. The touch screen does not sense my finger and when it does, it lags. When I bought this phone, it originally had Android 2.1 on it. But when they finally updated it to 2.2, it was still disappointingly as slow. It is sooo slow that it will not open some apps and when it does they are all soooo slow.
In conclusion, I will leave you with this. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! To Samsung, I really wish you would not have made this phone. I like your products and I had a non Android phone that worked great! But this phone is making me NEVER buy another one of your phones ever again!
Please please give me my money back! Because you just lost a customer.
Pros: Built-in speakers
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Did not meet expectations, soooo slow, slow, piece of junk, touch screen
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have had nothing but trouble with my Samsung Intercept since the day I bought it. My cell carrier has sent me and my children (we all have Intercepts) numerous replacement phones. But all with the same problems. Unable to send or receive MMs, phone freezing, not cutting back on, etc...
Pros: Built-in speakers, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you're looking for a basic phone that you do not want to add anything to it, then this is the phone for you. But like most Android phones, you want apps! Be careful with the apps you put on this phone. It is not capable of handling much!
Actually, any data activity causes everything in the phone to be sluggish. So, if you have an app in the background that transmits data, expect your phone to be extremely slow and unresponsive. For instance, if you receive a call, it will take a good 4 - 5 seconds for the accept button to appear, won't respond to the pressing of the button, and will fail to answer the call. So, please do be careful what apps you install.
Since removing said app, the phone works fine. Unfortunately, it is not capable of running much and works for basic built in features such as phone calls, messaging, internet browsing, maps, music, pictures, etc. But anything more advanced will disappoint such as Lookout Mobile Security, running Maps and Pandora simultaneously, using data and anything else at the same time, etc.
Pros: Inexpensive, android phone
Cons: Did not meet expectations, sluggish at times
