Disappointed

I purchased this phone in late February. Being excited by the options touted, the updates were mentioned all over the internet. When the update launched, I was in the first group to received it. The update deleted all of my non-Google apps and data. Moreover, it caused my data to display upside down when my QWERTY keyboard is closed. My screen freezes in the middle of use. Last week, while on a call, the call seemed to drop but the screen indicated it was still in progress. In fact, the screen would not change until I removed the battery from the back of the telephone for 2 minutes. I had tried a five second removal but nothing happened. Finally, it takes about 2-3 minutes for the phone to be available for use after it is turned on. This is not what I expected from a Samsung product. I have purchased Samsung printers and other electronics from Samsung but this phone seems like a blight on their wonderful work product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i've had a few samsung phones before this one and loved them all, the Intercept however drives me insane... overall it's really slow moving from one screen to another, it freezes a lot, i miss calls because the screen doesn't wake.... it's like working on a pc... frustrating.
Pros: Built-in speakers
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

160mb are you serious? That's nonsense! I have hardly anything running and I keep clearing my cache yet 130mb are always being taken up by the stupid, pre-loaded trash apps from Virgin Mobile.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, low ram

Was my second Samsung phone (Instinct was first). Just like the first one, I had problems with the operating system. Extremely sssslllloooowwwww when powering up phone. Then, instead of listening to me, she went out and got one (Samsung Intercept), and got exactly what she deserves....regrets
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This phone is awful. It's slow, glitchy, has awful memory capabilities, and the on-screen keyboard is just pathetic. I basically only use it for texting (which doesn't always work) and calling (which, btw, I can't even access my contacts because that app is "in error"). It won't let me edit my contacts or sync anything with my social network (like it's supposed to). Oh, and have I mentioned its lovely tendency to take HOURS to turn back on because it just decides to sit on the Samsung screen? Yeah, worst purchase of the year, by far.
Pros: Built-in speakers
Cons: Too big, awful touch screen response, glitchy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have always liked SAMSUNG products, and always saw them as well-designed and good performers. And in the same way, I was excited to get this phone; it seemed to be a great value and a great phone. For a while, my Intercept did fine, but soon I was experiencing unresponsive applications i had to shut down, sudden system reboot and slow performance. I have heard it was because of the update to Android 2.2 from Android 2.1, and I started seeing these symptoms soon after I opted for it. In short, I enjoyed it for a while, but am very unhappy with its current state.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, features
Cons: Did not meet expectations, freeze-ups, applications force-closing, unexpected restarts
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

got this phone a year ago and the only problems that I have found is when an update from sprint went through a few of my apps disappeared. Do wish the battery life was longer
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: battery life

Aggravating problems

I bought this phone right before a trip. I turned the phone off on the airplane and it would not come back on after that. I tried charging, taking out hte battery, etc. Finally after several hours, it came back. This happens every time the phone must be turned off, or the battery runs out, and it has a SHORT battery life. I charge it every night just to be safe. I find that the screen does not sense touch sometimes, as well. Sound quality is not great either. I'm somewhat disappointed, but i'm going to return this phone & get another which will hopefully be better.
