HATE IT!!!!!

We purchased a new home and this was the standard cooktop supplied, this by far was the poorest decision we made to not upgrade the cooktop, I hate it. The biggest complaint is the downdraft exhaust, if used, even on low it pulls the flames and essentially stops the cooking process. I would never do a downdraft again. The fact that food falls down into the vent doesn't help either. I'm personally not a fan of the glass top either but can live with that. The exhaust issue I can't.

Finished our kitchen re-model the day before Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving morning, I turned on two burners...one to boil my turkey giblets & one to boil my sweet potatoes. After both were done, I turned of the burners & retired to our den to rest a while before continuing. From the den, I heard "click, click, click". The electric igniters were going off all by themselves while the stove top was turned completely off. I could not get them to turn off, so finally I had to crawl under my "island" cabinet & unplug my cooktop. Spent the rest of Thanksgiving having to light every burner every time with a butane fireplace lighter. So far, I am not a fan of this purchase.

Not the right cook top for Asian cuisine or for serious cook

1] Downdraft - bad idea, especially since it influences the flame's orientation.
2] Knobs - flimsy, and expensive to replace
3] Overall maintenance - could have been designed better for folks who cook frequently
4] Paint peels off easily from the grates
Looks good, though, when it is clean.

I love the design and features of this cook top. It is everything we had hoped for it to be. BUT, it has already developed a hairline crack from the fan dial to the edge of the cook top. We have used the stove less than 20 times, and it is VERY disconcerting to have a crack in it already. We are seniors, and are VERY careful with our appliances. It is obviously a design flaw.
Pros: Design, Convenient Features, easy to use
Cons: already developed a crack in the glass cook top

I love this gas stove top. Burners are nice and hot and easy to simmer too. Glass top is easy to clean- but have a dry microfiber cleaning cloth handy to polish the glass after you get the oil and grime off. Other reviewers have stated that the cooking grills are slanted- it is just an optical illusion. They are flat and all of my pots and pans stay in place as they should.

My downdraft cooktop was the highlight of my total kitchen remodel, and I LOVE it! There is no hood to clean which gave me more cabinet space. The cooktop itself is easy to clean as well as easy to use. I am thrilled my contractor recommended it to us!
