Bought in 11/2013 Full power fan draws flames away from cooking surface. Fan knob cheap plastic. Require clockwise twist will burner knob go counter clockwise. Porcelain cooktop surfaces are too slippery
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wish I had changed to gas a long time ago. This is a much "softer" heat in that there is no contact with the electric coil causing burning. Yes, the downdraft does pull the flame, but I just adjust the pan to center over the flame and we do not fry much, so I do not have to use the downdraft all that much. Very easy to clean cooktop as grills lift off leaving a smooth top to clean.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love our new Kitchen Aid Gas Cook top. It has a down draft which was a must in our home. I couldn't be happier with the look of the cook top and it's so easy to wipe clean after each use.
I would recommend this to a friend!
