The packaging is great - it comes with a nice soft cloth bag to keep the item clean. The size is perfect for a carry on. It has strong handle and smooth wheels. My only concern with this as a gift is that the color of this product is not as described. It's more like purple than pink. I want to warn you if you are looking for a pink one.
