I just got my lamp and have used it for HOURS over the past two days. We have a screened porch in the Chicago area which has retractable vinyl blinds. With these blinds down to cut the wind, I have been able to sit comfortably on the couch out here when it's in the 40s outside. I'll know soon whether I can survive the 30s and 20s, but this thing is great when I'm sitting under it with the wind blocked. Last night when I put on the gas fireplace out here on the porch, the thermometer on the table by the couch read 70 degrees. That was specifically in the couch area. The rest of the porch was in the high 50s, and the outside temp was 42. So the heat from the lamp is only directly under the lamp, but it's good heat! I'm pretty excited to do my computer work out here this winter!
I recently ordered this for my patio as it seemed the most economical option. It has less heating range than advertised. My low-ish score is primarly due to the unclear instructions (the pictures are terrible), and several issues with my lamp. The switch seems to be coming off on one end, and several of the holes for screwing things in did not line up, so I had to use a great deal of force to make it work.
My wife enjoys cooking out on the patio, but winter is challenging, I found this heater, and she is so happy; we purchased two units. They work great, and we are enjoying it.
We put this together a couple days ago and it's just getting cool outside. Directions weren't as bad as most ppl said... Took about 30 mins. Tried it out and while it's not as hot as we'd like it to be, it def tags the chill off. And it looks beautiful and well made. Looking forward to cool nights!
Bought this as a gift for my Mom for her unheated patio. She has really enjoyed using it. It has added months of use to a space that she wasn't able to use. The patio was recently enclosed but not heated.
I bought 3 of these patio heaters for the different seating areas on my deck, and while I've only used them once, I absolutely love them! They throw off a lot of heat while being unobtrusive with a very modern look. I love that they are electric and can be turned on and off with just a flip of a switch. Highly recommend!
I just finished assembly. This is a well made device, as is my other Fire Sense heater. The infrared doesn't produce as much warmth as the LP fueled heater, but together they will extend our time enjoying midwest spring and fall evenings on our patio.
