HEAVY and VERY difficult to maneuver

Great suction, is too heavy and difficult to maneuver, not an easy vacuum to use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you're not having a 5-star experience with your Ball Animal 3. Your machine features an Anti-tangle Motorbar™ cleaner head, with suction control. The three levels of suction are controlled by the slider on the front of the cleaner head. Slide the suction control to suit the floor type, either positioning the slider left, center or to the right. The operational weight of this vacuum is on par with our other full size upright machines. If you're finding the vacuum hard to push or maneuver, even after adjusting the slider, it could be a compatibility issue with your flooring. We always suggest checking with your carpet maker to see what guidelines they may have regarding suction power or use of a spinning brush bar. Tough Enough For Business

I use this for my business and it handles the tough dirt and hair that accumulates on a daily basis when dealing with the public. Using in a residential setting would be amazing. Works great on bare and carpeted areas. Strong, powerful suction as expected from Dyson.

Great Vacuum However there is an issue

This is our second Dyson Vac and it does a great job, the only complaint is the amount of suction on carpet and it is very difficult to push. Our old Vac was never that way and my wife will not use it on carpet because of the that. On hard surface floors there is no issue.

They changed it

So, the previous model I had had a 14 inch head. Now it is less then 12 inches, which makes it harder to turn, and covers less on each pass. Really a poor decision of them to make this change.

Great with exception of wand/hose

Overall the vacuum is great with the exception of the wand/hose. The inside diameter is about half of the size that it should be. This needs to be addressed for future models.

My previous DYSON was easy to use & maneuver -- we had it over 15 years.
I am disappointed with my new vacuum. I am considering a return. .The wand is awkward and hard to direct. The suction is so strong I cannot use it on area rugs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Your machine features an Anti-tangle Motorbar™ cleaner head, with suction control. This slider allows you to adjust suction right at the head, to adjust suction for the flooring type you're cleaning. If you're still finding the machine hard to push, it can be caused by a compatibility issue with your flooring. We do always suggest checking with your flooring manufacturer to see what guidelines they may have in place with regard to suction or even using a spinning brush bar.

Not for older folks.

Excellent modifications to previous models, which I've owned. But, the superb suction is a detriment for older folks who will have trouble moving the vacuum over rugs. The suction, even at the proper setting, makes the vacuum very hard to push and pull. If it were not for this, I would have given the machine 5 stars.
