The vacuum is very convenient because it is portable and powerful. Most of the cordless vacuums I have had were not powerful enough or were handheld so were inconvenient to pick up things from the floor. I mainly use it to pick up dust, hair, cereal, etc. from the floor. It seems to bog down a bit on carpet. I have never reached the limit of the battery so cannot vouch for how long it will run. The mechanism for attaching the accessories is very convenient, and I like that they click into place, rather than being a friction fit like other vacuums. The filter seems to work well. I have not noticed any dust bypassing the filter into the expelled air. Emptying the dust bin is extremely easy, and I don't have to get my hands dirty. The extra motor in the attachments make it work better than if it was only based on suction, or suction driven brushes. My only qualms about the vacuum are: 1. It is a top heavy, and so a little difficult to balance it. 2. You cannot lean it against a wall while trying to move something out of the way to continue vacuuming. This is again because it is top-heavy, and with the pivot at the bottom, it will not stand on its own, unlike a traditional upright vacuum. You cannot lean it against a wall, or even a table because it will fall over. You have to place it flat on the floor or back in its wall holder. 3. The trigger switch is right at the place where you tend to pick up the vacuum from its holder. Almost every time, I end up starting the motor when I pick it up. It would be nice to have a "trigger guard", like on a gun, to prevent accidental activation of the vacuum. It would be easy enough to put your finger behind the trigger guard to use the machine after picking it up. I bought a stand which is free standing and holds the accessories. This is essential, otherwise all the accessories will be difficult to keep together.

I bought this vacuum about a month ago. I’m pleased with the battery performance so far. I’m not pleased with the way you have to remove the battery pack/ handle from the vacuum tube. I push the button in & then have to wrestle with getting them separated. Other than that it works good.

I am amazed how the V11 picks up the cat hair and fluffs the rug. The only thing I have a problem with is kitty litter pick up. Since I have to remove the stick to empty the litter, it tends to fall everywhere. I also have a V8 I use for that chore. I like the V8 cartridge location more than the V11. Cleaning determines which cordless I use.

Very disappointed to find out the Dyson V11 sweeper does not have a light. Also do not like the fact that you have to continually hold down on the power button. Sweeper also has too much suction when going from bare floor to rugs and does not glide smoothly over rugs. These things combined would have been a deal breaker if I had known in advance, especially for the high price of this unit! I do not intend to buy another Dyson in the future and will discourage others from buying one without knowing these disadvantages in advance.

Due to an oversized but adorable white Labrador Retriever, I vacuum daily, and the Dyson V11 cordless is by far the best product I've used. Previously I used a stick vacuum to sweep our tile floors and an upright to vacuum the carpet. Now the upright is collecting dust in the closet because the Dyson is powerful enough for the entire house, AND, it has a 1 hour battery life. Beyond happy and HIGHLY recommend the V11.
