Got about a month ago. Seems to pick up very well...at least the canister is about full when I'm done with the whole house.

Great Portable Vacuum!

I have been using the Dyson V11 Extra for a few months and have no complaints except for the lack of a “always on” button versus continuous hold on button. Maybe make this switch optional. Great vacuum with great suction power and easy transition from hardwood floors to rugs and carpets.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great vacuum except for on/off switch

This vacuum has excellent power and cleans excellent. However, I have to continually hold the on button while running the vacuum. This is particularly hard on my wrists because of having to continually keep the on button depressed. It’s also too easy inadvertently turn the power while emptying the canister. Very poor design. If I had known
this about vacuum before my purchase, I wouldn’t have bought it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

More runtime, very pleased-

I have a Dyson upright, and still run it from time to time, but for everyday use, I've long relied on a V8 cordless. With 3 cats in the house, vacuuming is a daily thing for me, and after many years of hard service, the V8's runtime was getting shorter, so I bought the V11 After a month of use, I'm very pleased. The runtime is much longer- especially since the medium setting works as well as the "high" setting on the V8. The best measure of how well it works is how much cat hair, dirt and dust it picks up. Goes from thick rugs to thin rugs, to tile, vinyl and wood without needing to change tool or settings. The LED is a nice upgrade. 4 stars and 2 thumbs up.

The best vacuum I ever had. The only downside is a need to hold a power button all the way while it is working. A sticky control would help. It is something desirable but the performance is still excellent!

Inferior Motorhead on this model

I researched for quite a while before settling on the V11. In every single review the V11 used the High Torque head. I didn't even realize another head was available on the V11 because I don't believe there ever was before. They do state what it is in the description but I doubt most people will notice, like I didn't. The problem with the Motorhead this version comes with is that it doesn't work on deep pile as well and it just pushes around larger debris on hard floors. It also doesn't have the holes on the side for edge cleaning.
Aside from that, this works well. The amount of hair it pulled out of the carpet that my premium corded vacuum left behind is pretty remarkable. It's quiet and easy to use and comes with a lot of useful tools. The trigger is annoying, not because it's difficult or tiring to pull but because of the way it makes a lot of the vacuum weight rest on top of your finger. It gets uncomfortable after awhile.
I would still recommend the V11, just not this version. I feel that Dyson putting a head on here from a couple of generations ago and calling it a sale is misleading.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought a month ago and WOW! My house really got cleaner!! I’m hoping that this vac lasts longer as a great device than my Oreck did, since it cost nearly the same. So far I really like the way o can clean quickly and am able to easily move the cleaning head around so we’ll. It’s been a terrific change for me- I had four vacuums, but only really want ONE that can do it all!
