Soundbar Connected to Frame TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Exclusively connected to my Frame TV. Used only for tv.
The soundbar works fine. Smaller room. However the interface for control and bar sound mode selection is difficult to use. Example I have no on screen feedback telling me exactly what mode the bar is operating in. So I just surf the controls to find some sound mode the seems best for the entertainment I am viewing.

Can not connect via HDMI(ARC) cable to TV.

Can not connect via HDMI(ARC) cable to TV.
-Able to connect to TV via BlueTooth and Wifi well.
-Confirmed TV setting, Anynet+ (HDMI-CES) is on.
-The HDMI cable is connected to the ARC terminal.
-Confirmed several times at the cable-connection point.
-From the TV Sound Output, I can/cannot see the [AV] Soundbar S801B(HDMI) randomly.
(some time it shows as Receiver (HDMI))
It looks like the connection is not stable?
I'm not sure where the issue is the micro HDMI cable or sound-bar connector or others.
Please let me know how I can resolve on this.

I am sorry that you are having issues with the inputs on your soundbar and TV working together.

There are a few things that you can try.

First, try doing a hard reset on your soundbar. With the power of your soundbar ON, press and hold the + & -, volume UP/DOWN buttons, on the unit itself for roughly 5 seconds. You will see "INIT OK" scroll across the LED display of your soundbar.

Next, make sure that your TV is running the latest firmware as well as your soundbar. Connecting them both to Wi-Fi using the SmarThings app through a smart device will allow you to update the firmware. This will also allow you to set them to be automatically updated so your firmware will always be up to date.

I struggled with getting it to work the first couple times but otherwise it works fine.
The sound plays beautifully, its really simple to operate once you get past that initial operation.
I would buy this for someone I like, so that's a plus

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-S800B Soundbar. I am sorry to see that your initial time with the Soundbar was not ideal.

If you experience any other issues with your Soundbar, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your unit.

First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

Next, update the firmware on your soundbar. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to download the SmartThings app and connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. This will allow you to not only download any firmware updates but also control your entire soundbar on the screen of your smart device.

Please also verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. The LED display changes as follows: White moves from left to right and right to left, and the middle LED blinks Cyan 3 times. Then the middle LED will blink RED and turn off.

Good Sound - Issues Syncing to Alexa

the sound is good. the bar looks great with our frame tv. when we attemp to make the alexa play on the sound bar it was giving us issues. it would say music is playing but it wouldnt play. this happened on all of our alexa's. it should just work without having to fiddle around with it forever. i gave up.

To set up the Alexa functionality, you must do it within the SmartThings app. Follow these steps on your mobile device:
1. Install and launch the SmartThings app from your mobile (smartphone or tablet)
2. Sign into your SmartThings account or create a new account
3. Tap the + button at the top right of the main page > select Device > AV > Samsung > Soundbar
4. After the Soundbar has been added, select the Soundbar from the main page
5. Tap on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner and tap on “Alexa Settings” to log in to your Amazon account

Decent, unless you are a Spotify user

I bought this because it was Alexa enabled, but Spotify does NOT work with this soundbar through Alexa! I am incredibly disappointed that Samsung cannot figure this out. Spotify works through Alexa on Sonos and other brands of speakers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
