I bought this for my bedroom to be used with an old plasma tv that support ARC HDMI Input. The sound quality is there. The bass shakes the room, can feel it. Wireless subwoofer works flawlessly. The bar is thin and is not noticeable at all under the TV. I have an SVS subwoofer and Bowers speakers in another room and I can say this S800B does an excellent job for a Soundbar. Go for it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love that it easily connects to my phone so I can listen to music around the house the sound quality is great and when the bass hits its phenomenal! Especially during movies. It's also very sleek and barely noticeable under my tv

So easy to use!

Frustrating Voice Guide Can’t Be Turned Off

I’ve had this soundbar for almost a year, and there is no way to stop it from announcing that it’s connected to the tv, randomly and multiple times a day, even when the tv isn’t in use. I’ve reached out to support, and looked at all options, but this seems to be a bug that isn’t being fixed. Incredibly annoying, and the only option is to lower the volume before turning the tv off every time. I don’t believe the improvement in sound quality is worth these frustrations for what seems like it should be a simple feature to turn off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your review of the HW-S801B Soundbar. I am sorry to see that your soundbar has not been an ideal experience for you.

You can in fact turn off the voice guide, please follow the instructions below.

1. Turn off the HW-S801B.

2. Press and hold Source on the remote for more than 5 seconds. It will not work if you use the source button located on the soundbar.

3. The HW-S801B will turn on by itself and it will not audibly say Power On. Now you know that the voice guide has been disabled.

4. If you want to enable the voice guide again, repeat steps 1-2.

Using the provided SOUNDBAR REMOTE is required in disabling the voice guide.
