Great Sound For Slim Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought Dec 2022 to go with a new samsung TV. The pair use what's called q symphony which allows all the speakers to be used from both the tv and sound bar to work as one unit. Overall the sound is great not much adjusting needed. Only downside is the soundbar doesn't use eARC just ARC through one port, so everything needs to be connected to the TV then the TV to the soundbar, no optical connection either. It's very long for a soundbar which should fit under a 55" or larger, but the depth is extremely slim compared to the Q800 model that I saw in a retail store. Overall love the soundbar thinking on picking up the matching rear atmos wireless speakers soon to finish it off.
If you need alot of connections directly to your soundbar or need a digital display on it, this soundbar is not for you. For everyone else, especially samsung tv owners who can use Q Symphany, want to have a very flush mounting soundbar, the HW-S800B is an excellent purchase, with the option to expand to a full 5.1(2).4 system.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The HW-S800B Soundbar has the ability to connect using Wi-Fi and is therefore compatible with SmartThings. Once you download the SmartThings app to your phone, use the app to set up your soundbar.

Horrible compatibility issues

Cannot connect via HDMI to a Samsung TV with eARC. This is a joke because eARC tvs are supposed to be backwards compatible with ARC soundbars, regardless of the manufacturer. Last time I ever buy a Samsung product

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the HW-S801B Soundbar. I am sorry that you have experienced this issue with your connection.

Your review will be shared with our internal teams.

There are a few different steps you can do to troubleshoot this issue.

First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

Next, update the firmware on your soundbar. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to download the SmartThings app and connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. This will allow you to not only download any firmware updates but also control your entire soundbar on the screen of your smart device.

Please also verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. The LED display changes as follows: White moves from left to right and right to left, and the middle LED blinks Cyan 3 times. Then the middle LED will blink RED and turn off.

Great Soundbar for a large room with high ceilings

Great Quality But
