First cook success!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembly was fairly straightforward and intuitive, and having the tools included saved trips to the toolbox. On initial firing, it took me a while to notice that the auger actually WAS slowly rotating and pellets were indeed being fed to the burn pot. (Might be nice to add to the instructions.)
After seasoning and an overnight cooldown, I was ready to go. The next day, I preheated to 300 degrees and grilled 5+ pounds of lightly seasoned chicken thighs, finishing up with a tray of nachos for 15 minutes on the warming rack. I used both probes, placing each in meat at opposite ends of the grill. The PID controller indicated a solid, consistent temperature, and the probes were never more than 1-2 degrees apart throughout the 1:15 cooking time needed to reach 180.
Result was very juicy chicken with just a bit of smokiness due to the higher temp. Looking forward to trying the smoker tube for an extra jolt.
My new Pioneer 450B makes an excellent addition to my outdoor cooking toolset!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If this is your first pellet grill ok , but was a mistake by me to buy this unit .Very light weight, thin metal, limited cook space and not much versatility.I had previously owned a GMG,Daniel Boone and will look harder to find something where experience in cooking can grow
