[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got the Samsung Q-Series HW-Q990F and it freggin rocks!!!
Setup was so easy. Plugged everything in, connected the bar to the TV with the HDMI cable, powered on the sub and rears, and they paired wirelessly within a couple minutes. No fighting woth wires, No complicated menus, no hunting for manuals. SmartThings picked it up right away and I was done. Went from unboxing to watching a 4K Star Wars video on YouTube in under 15 minutes. People will say blahhhh you don't get the same sound quality with wireless. I think its amazing! This thing fills the room. The Atmos effects are awesome! In Battlefield 6 you actually feel height and movement instead of just louder. Bass from the sub is deep and tight without being boomy, amd in a pretty smalll package. Its hard to notice next to the TV. Dialogue stays crystal clear even in busy action scenes and the rear speakers make everything feel immersive. Movies, shows, even music sound way more alive than I expected from a soundbar system.
If you’re looking for that big home-theater feel without running a bunch of wires or dealing with a full AV receiver, this one just works. Easy to set up, and it sounds fantastic!!!!

Great Sound, But Still Room for Improvement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Q990F for a while now, and overall I am very impressed with it. The sound is powerful, clear, and the surround effect is probably my favorite part. When watching movies, you can actually feel the difference compared with a regular soundbar. The rear speakers make the whole setup feel much more immersive.
The dialogue is also very clear, which is important to me because I watch a lot of movies and shows where you need to hear what people are saying. The bass is strong without being completely overwhelming, and the soundstage feels much bigger than I expected.
I also like how well everything connects with my Samsung TV and the overall Samsung ecosystem. Setup was fairly easy, although I think Samsung could still improve the app and connectivity experience because it was not always as smooth as I expected.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because, for the price, I expected everything to be almost perfect. There are still some things that could be improved with calibration and connectivity. But when it comes to the actual sound quality and immersion, this is one of the best soundbar systems I have used.
Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it to someone looking for a serious home theater setup.

Great sound bar

The sound is powerful, clear, and immersive, whether I’m watching movies, listening to music, or enjoying a basketball game. The surround-sound experience really fills the room, and the subwoofer delivers deep, strong bass without overpowering the dialogue.
The rear speakers make a huge difference and create a true theater-like experience at home. Dialogue comes through crisp and clear, while action scenes have excellent depth and detail. The Dolby Atmos performance is especially impressive—you can really hear sound moving around the room.
Setup was straightforward, and the system works very well with my Samsung TV. The build quality also feels premium and matches the price point.
Overall, the Samsung HW-Q990F is an outstanding soundbar system for anyone who wants a high-end home theater experience without installing a traditional receiver and multiple wired speakers. It’s expensive, but the sound quality, bass, surround effects, and overall performance make it worth the investment.

Best Sound Bar in the Market

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing quality, needless to say INCREDIBLE sound!!! Overall the best sound bar out in the market. It's the entire package for a very decent price. The set up is seamless and fast. Connects to smarthing and works smooth. The options to adapt the sound to your likings is all there for you . Best surround sound system I've had. I enjoy watching movies and shows even more now, and I love how the settings changes on its own when it recognizes that I am now playing video games. Seriously this is THE BEST sound bar in the market!

Dolby Atmos That Truly Fills the Room

Setup and connectivity were easy, and the surround performance is excellent. My only complaint is that individual speaker controls could be better, since adjusting everything together has both positives and negatives.

Fantastic sound, but constantly turns off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When it works, it's flawless. The sound is fantastic and gives us a very rich sound experience. Voices that used to be drowned out by other noise in a movie or TV show come through clear and easy to understand without turning the volume way up. Generally just a very good product. I'm taking off 2 stars because it randomly and intermittently will turn off or restart for seemingly no reason in the middle of watching something. No idea why it happens and we've tried several things to troubleshoot it with no luck.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, Auto Update allows software to update automatically even when the Soundbar is turned off. You can also update by using the SmartThings app.
If not connected to the internet, you can download it onto a USB device, and then upload it to your soundbar - no wireless connection required. Connect the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper left corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes.
- During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB.
- If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it.
- When the latest version is installed, no update is performed.
- Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported.
6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off
