Easy setup and awesome sound!

It was super easy to setup and connect it to my Samsung TV (Neo Qled 2025). Works very well with QSymphony. Very clear dialog sound. Sound definitely fills the room (18ftx12ft). I used space fit feature and the only manual adjustment i did is increasing the sound of the 2 rear speakers (mounted on the back wall, 55 inch height and 16 inch away from the side wall, widespread mount). The bass volume I left as is because I watch mainly at night when I prefer clarity over bass with low volume when kids are sleeping. The rear speakers feel underwhelming but maybe thats how they are supposed to be (don't have anything to compare it to) Overall, it was an excellent upgrade from an older Samsung Q60 2019 (3.1) that elevated our mobile night experience at home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Q-Series Soundbar HW-Q990F to be able to utilize my Samsung 75" NEO QLED TV's Q-Symphony feature, which allows the TV speakers as well as the soundbar to play simultaneously. Set up was a breeze, instead of taking hours like I used to do with a traditional AVR and separate speaker setup, I was done in minutes. Technology has reached the point where you can enjoy a movie with excellent results from a soundbar system and Samsung doesn't disappoint, with the Q-series. It's a very clean looking minimalist system with an excellent three dimensional theatrical soundscape. I have nothing but praise, especially since I thought that sound like this could only be achieved via a AVR and separate speakers. This may very well be the GOAT of all soundbars.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upgraded from older soundbad. Sound bar itself is clearer, subwoofer is bigger giving better lows and surround sound speakers are finally truly wireless and also sound great.

Great sound, funky firmware updates

My model is actually a Q990F, but that model wasn't listed on the dropdown menu for this survey. Sound is great and Q-Symphony is nice for fuller sound at low volume. My only concern is that , after recent firmware updates to the TV (QN65S90), I have experienced about 15 spontaneous muting incidents. During these occurrences, the sound controls from various remotes do not work and I have to turn the TV off and back on to restore sound. More recently, my TV did not "acknowledge" that the soundbar was connected, even though it was and was powered on. These occurrences seemed to happen a little more frequently in Q-symphony mode.

Wow! True Dolby atmos is amazing!

Just like a movie theater but the comfort of your favorite chair. The ability to hear sounds at all angles and levels sets this system apart. I didn’t know what a hone theater system truly was until I got my Q990f. I’m sold!

Bad WLAN board

In my honest opinion it would be difficult to beat the sound quality you get from this system at this price point. So why the low rating? I only had it a short time when I got the dreaded "wifi disconnected" message. After doing some reading, this is a very common problem. They really should have an ethernet port on the unit, so you could just bypass it all together. But if you buy one this may happen to you as well.

Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, Auto Update allows software to update automatically even when the Soundbar is turned off. You can also update by using the SmartThings app.
If not connected to the internet, you can download it onto a USB device, and then upload it to your soundbar - no wireless connection required. Connect the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper left corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes.
- During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB.
- If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it.
- When the latest version is installed, no update is performed.
- Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported.
6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off

Ridiculous Audiophile Soundbars

Awesome product, simple setup and connectivity

Very clear dialog sound even at low volume! Super easy to install and connect to Samsung TV. QSymphony with a 2020 Neo QLED Samsung TV offers an excellent sound immersion! The woofer is surprisingly well sized. The rear speakers are decent, not getting the best experience from them as most of my movie time is at night with low volume (7). I have the system installed in a 17×12 room and the whole room is filled with sound.
