Pairing the Samsung HW-Q990F 11.1.4-channel soundbar system with my Samsung S95F TV has completely changed the game. If you love blockbusters, atmospheric thrillers, or cinematic scores, this system is an absolute masterpiece.
True 11.1.4 Immersion: Sound From Every Angle
Many soundbars claim to offer "surround sound," but the Q990F actually delivers it. With a staggering 23 speakers packed into the main bar, the wireless subwoofer, and the two rear satellites, you are completely enveloped in a dome of audio.
The 4 up-firing channels do a phenomenal job with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content. When a helicopter flies overhead or rain starts falling in a scene, the sound genuinely bounces off the ceiling, making it feel like it’s happening right in your living room. The 8-inch subwoofer packs a serious, room-shaking punch, but thanks to Samsung’s AI-driven dynamic bass control, it stays incredibly tight and clean without rattling the room or muddying the dialogue.

I have installed many immersive audio systems in my life. Over the last 30 years, I have never found audio clarity and bass quality this immersive. The system's connectivity and central calibration options make you feel like you are there. For an 11.1.2 surround sound experience, this is the purest immersion, full bass, and pure clarity, calibration, and connectivity.

Calibration was an easy setup, especially with the ai tuning. easy connection setup just tap the button on the speaker and it auto connects. movies feel as if you are right there in the scene. good clarity and bass can be easily felt

Not for Dialogue

I have a slight hearing impairment. I had a Zvox soundbar and replaced it with the 990F. There's no comparison. The dialogue on the ZVOX was much clearer. Even with all the settings on the 990F optimized for dialogue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Try enabling Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) Pro and Voice Enhance, which help make conversations stand out from background sounds and effects. You can also use Adaptive Sound mode and increase the Center Channel level through the SmartThings app for even clearer dialogue. These settings can make a significant difference when watching movies, TV shows, or sports.

From here, you will be able to adjust all of the same settings as the provided remote, but with the added benefit of being able to see the changes on your smart device.
