[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For Cinematic Use / Home Theater Enthusiasts: This is an excellent pick. If you watch a lot of movies, play graphically and sonically rich games, or want a near-theater experience without building a full speaker wall, the Q990F delivers one of the most immersive experiences you can get in a soundbar package.
For Music Lovers: It’s very capable. The height channels and surround give a very spacious, rich experience. But if your primary use is just music, there might be other systems (or even dedicated stereo setups) that give more “pure” audio for songs. That said, for casually immersive music listening, it’s more than good enough.
For Budget-Conscious Buyers: If the older Q990D (or other high-quality but cheaper soundbars) is available, it’s worth comparing prices. The subwoofer improvement is meaningful, but not necessarily a “must-have” for everyone — depending on how critical you are about bass quality or how much space you have.
