Yuck Product and Extremely poor Samsung Support

The speakers keep disconnecting constantly—no matter how many times I reset the Wi‑Fi or power them off and on. It’s especially frustrating in the middle of a game or movie: the sound drops, and they often won’t reconnect for 30 minutes. We end up having to AirPlay audio to a nearby HomePod while waiting.

Customer care was just as disappointing. They told me to disconnect the product and wait 30 minutes while they ran some “debug software,” insisting that this would fix it. How is that an acceptable solution for a very expensive product that is supposed to work reliably?
I’ve never experienced something this frustrating. Very expensive, very unreliable speakers, and extremely poor support. Save yourself the headache.

Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, Auto Update allows software to update automatically even when the Soundbar is turned off. You can also update by using the SmartThings app.
If not connected to the internet, you can download it onto a USB device, and then upload it to your soundbar - no wireless connection required. Connect the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper left corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes.
- During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB.
- If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it.
- When the latest version is installed, no update is performed.
- Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported.
6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off
You can also try resetting your soundbar by using the following steps.
First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.
While the Soundbar is On, press both the Vol+ and Vol- buttons on the unit simultaneously until the display shows "INIT", then release. If this doesn’t work, then try using the remote control: While the Soundbar is ON, press and hold the SOUND CONTROL ("Gear") button on the Soundbar remote for 10 seconds. You will see "150HZ" on the display. Keep pressing until you see "INIT" on the display, then release.

The Best Home Theater Upgrade I've Ever Made

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After spending time with the Samsung HW-Q990F, I can confidently say this is the most impressive sound system I've ever owned. The 11.1.4-channel setup completely transforms the way I watch movies, sports, and play games. The wireless rear speakers and Dolby Atmos create an incredible 3D soundstage that makes you feel like you're right in the middle of the action.
The redesigned subwoofer is outstanding. It delivers deep, clean bass with plenty of impact without overwhelming the rest of the audio. Dialogue is crystal clear thanks to Active Voice Amplifier Pro, so I never have to constantly adjust the volume during movies or TV shows.
The setup, calibration, and connectivity were surprisingly easy, and once everything was connected, the system automatically optimized itself for my room. Watching football feels like sitting in the stadium, action movies sound cinematic, and music has incredible detail and depth.
The HW-Q990F has me hooked. Now I'm eyeing a Samsung OLED or Neo QLED TV so I can experience Q-Symphony. Wishful thinking? Definitely. But if Samsung wants to help me kick my Sony habit, I promise I'll give your TV a loving home! 😄

Samsung absolutely knocked it out of the park with the HW-Q990F. The build quality is excellent, the features are packed with the latest technology, and the sound quality rivals dedicated home theater systems that cost much more. If you're looking for a premium soundbar, this is the one to buy. It exceeded every expectation I had and is worth every penny. Highly recommended!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What an upgrade from my 10 year old Samsung SoundBar. I debated whether to get the model with rear surround speakers thinking the Dolby Atmos on the SoundBar would be enough (along with the subwoofer). I am so glad I did. The sound experience having the rear speakers directly behind us and calibrated with the system creates the most immersive experience. Highly recommend!
