So far so good

So far so good. Has been in the garage and in the backyard and no issues. Does occasionally needs reset after longer uses. Mirroring is nice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for a portable projector for a while and this fits the bill! Great to travel with, great sound and great picture! Love being able to watch TV on it too. My daughter throughly enjoyed watching a movie on her ceiling when she had a cold.

Amazing portable projector

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, The Freestyle Smart Portable Projector is an amazing device. I honestly wasn't sure what I was getting into when I first purchased this device. I figured it would be very good to take with us on vacation and occasionally outside. We use it all the time now. It is very easy and simple to setup and use no matter the location. We normally just project it on the wall or ceiling. The gaming hub experience is also a great perk. I cannot wait to get this in my deer blind and have football going all day. I have my own piece of paradise now! I would 100% recommend this device to the IT enthusiast! Great compliment to anyone's entertainment needs.

Great Movie/TV Show Projector!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung Freestyle Gen 2 projector has really exceeded my expectations. The Freestyle Gen has so many features built in to provide a good picture on whatever surface you use. From your wall to your desk, include the angle you project. It automatically makes the necessary adjustments within the built-in software. So, it is easy for a novice to use also.
The sound of the Freestyle is fantastic for a small portable projector. You have the option to connect any Bluetooth speaker system, as an additional option. However, for a portable projector, I believe it delivers what it needs.
The software, Samsung provides all the basic software you need to get started. Additionally, you can download all the various apps from their app store for your movies, sports, news, and other viewing pleasure. The Freestyle Gen 2 provides several different modes where you can hang it from a light fixture to project straight down or you can use it as an ambiance light source when entertaining guests. It is a very versatile little projector.
The only room for improvement in my view is the Freestyle Gen 2 doesn’t do well in daylight conditions. With only a 230 ANSI Peak lumen, which is not that high, it suffers when used in outdoor environments with any amount of daylight. I attempted to view the Freestyle in the shade, it was a little better, but the picture looks all washed out.
In conclusion, the portability, sound, picture, and small package make the Freestyle Gen 2 a great tech option for many people. If you can pick this up at the right price, it might be an excellent addition to your home or on to-go to entertain your family.

I LOVE the idea, but not the end product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE what Samsung is going for and their innovation, but the lack of needed improvements from the last model, disappointing image quality, no included additional accessories make this a deal breaker for me.
I won't talk about price or directly compare this to any other projector, but discuss the value of this model compared to the value in other projectors in its class.
At the MSRP of this unit at launch, there are many options that include an internal battery (vs paying additional for this one), 4k options, better lumens, features.
If portability is more important then image quality, this product MIGHT work for you. However, the added cost for a battery accessory is substantial and there are other options out there at this cost that include them. Samsung will certainly have an advantage of better software, better apps, probably easier to use, but you need to prioritize your needs when making a decision.

I wanted to use this in my bedroom and on my patio outside while in a hot tub.
In the bedroom, light control isn't an option and this unit did pretty well. Things like the type of ceiling, fans, placement options, etc all come into play. It needs to be centered, which isn't ideal unless you have a shelf above your headboard. I managed to make it work on my opposite side of the bed but despite decent hdr, auto focus and color, the picture remains gainy and just not enjoyable.

It needs to be centered, which isn't ideal unless you have a shelf above your headboard. Works great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use it to watch movies and football games. It has a great picture and connects great with my samsung surround sound. It works greats with low light and even work good on bagrounds that has color. I may even use it to replace my current TV in my room.
