Stunning picture!

Update: Two weeks in and I got a screen problem. The upper right corner of the tv was completely black while the rest of the tv had picture. I tried to contact customer service, but wasn’t able to get any answers. My software is up-to-date. I shut the TV off for a while, turned it back on, and it seemed to work fine and then this happened again. It’s now been about a week and a half since I had that problem and it hasn’t happened again. I purchased this TV from Best Buy and I’m past the return window. For the price tag of this TV, I sure hope I didn’t make a mistake.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Picture Poor Google OS

While the picture is exceptional, the Google Operating system is lacking. Turning off the TV can be confusing. Pushing the remotes off button brings up "restart or close," neither of which turns the TV off. After a few minutes, the on/off indicator light may or may not turn off leaving one wondering if the TV is on or off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Single view, simultaneous sound
Our TV with simultaneous sound output lets you listen to a show on your headphones while your partner listens to the same show through the TV speakers. You can also change the volume using Bluetooth devices separately. Using Sony’s headphone, you can smoothly switch Bluetooth® connection from other devices.
I have not yet added the Bravia Home Theater Quad to my A95L yet but, I don't see the above capability in the menus.

Hi MarkinBoulder, thank you for your question regarding the Sony - XR77A95L. That function that you mentioned where you can simultaneously output TV sound from the TV speakers and headphones, or an audio device and headphones at the same time is also available for your TV model. Here are the steps you can follow to enable it:
1- Connect your headphones or audio system device via Bluetooth to the TV
2- Press the quick settings button on the Sony remote (wrench)
3- Look for audio output and turn on the TV speakers
There you have it! The TV speakers should be outputting sound and your Bluetooth device as well.

Superb TV

Owned this for a month and love it. I saw it in operation at a local TV store. I needed 55inch to fit a lift cabinet in our living room. Installlation was simple. The addition of google TV working well. Picture is amazing and all blacks are truly black. My son in law planning to get OLED TV but now wants the Sony QD OLED.

Movie and Gaming Goodness

Purchased 77 A95L and it has been a pretty good experience. Movies look incredible, just next level.
Gaming has been great as well with PC, Xbox, and PS5.
Negatives: Only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports for the price is ridiculous. Some DV incompatibilities with receivers when (4K120 VRR) is enabled and external devices (Blu-ray, Nvidia Shield) are used. Hope these are resolved with firmware updates.

Sony values customers opinion and is always striving to provide the best experience possible. 

If the HDMI signal format/VRR of the HDMI input is set to Enhanced format (4K120), some devices may not be able to output Dolby Vision video.
Try the following steps if Dolby Vision video doesn't display when a Dolby Vision enabled device is connected to the TV with HDMI:
Change the settings to Enhanced Format:
On the TV remote control, press the Quick Settings button.
Select Settings → Channels & Inputs → External inputs → HDMI signal format/VRR.
Select the HDMI input number connected to the Dolby Vision device, then select Enhanced format.
If the connected device has a Dolby Vision output Off/On function, set it to On.
Turn the connected device off, then back on (reboot).

Something good, something less good

The picture is excellent and the control is excellent. The installed antenna doesn't work at all. When I set the TV up I got words saying the antenna didn't receive the signal. Some of my neighbors use antennas successfully so I don't understand why my sophisticated TV does not. The recommendation to not touch the screen made mounting the TV rmore difficult. My last Sony used gorilla glass and this always made me feel safe.
