I'm happy with it for the price. Has minimal features but lets me know when it needs a new battery, which is what I wanted. Seems to record heart rate correctly.
I’m on the third unit, the two previous delaminated and the return/exchange process is difficult. Also the rep that processed the last return was rude and insulting to me. That said, when it works it works good
It works well and is comfortable compared to similar things I've worn in the past. The only real downside is have is i cant figure out how to show live heart rate in the garmin connect app and even though I can pair the meta quest 3 with it I cant find a way to see the heart rate on the headset. I found a work around using a 3rd party app and using the pass-through mode on the headset to keep an eye on things while I exercise. If I'm incorrect and it can do those things I will gladly change my review as it works really well outside of those issues. Its also likely that I had outdated information when I made the purchase and neither of those things are possible.
I have had two Garmin HRMs previously. I bought this because I constantly got inconsistent and erroneous readings with the other two. A few months after I purchased the HRM 200 I had the same experience. My HR would go from 125 to 67 bpm. I tried all the suggestions on the website and finally called support. The woman I spoke to checked my readings and was willing to order a replacement but asked that I try one last thing - wet the contacts before I rode. I did this and so far so good. If this keeps up, I'll change my rating to five stars.
My Garmin Venu S2 was not measuring my heart accurately when I used a recumbent bike when I couldn’t bike for real outside. This device worked great after over an hour of trying to get it to function. The instructions from Garmin did not work. After repeated failed attempts, it was Reddit users who explained how they got it to connect. Now, it works it’s fine, but it was frustrating. Garmin needs to invest far more effort in user testing and to pay attention to what their own users are saying in social media about their products. It’s crazy to me that a company that large would be so invisible online to issues its users are experiencing. Crickets from Garmin while their users try to figure it out without them.
I first bought this less than 2 mo ago to use with my Venu 2 watch provide me with a better HRM while cycling and walking than the one built into the watch provides. The HRM-200 worked great with Connect while using the watch for recording everything else during my Activities, and HR abnormalities no longer were presentpresent . Then I installed an Edge 1030 cyclometer and connected the HRM to it too. It worked great with that device and in Connect too. So, now I can wear the Watch while wearing the HRM while either walking, cycling with Edge or cycling on a bike without the Edge and I do not have to change any settings on either device.
