Seems like a good, durable speaker. I primarily got it for use on the deck, & down by the lake when I go swimming. So far it sounds great & has plenty of volume for my needs. It also does a decent job when taken out on the boat.
It performs so well for me, & with the option of linking to multiple units, I'm contemplating getting a second one to get true stereo sound.

I purchased the Xtreme 4 about a month ago. I can tell you that this speaker is definitely a step in the right direction compared to the previous models. It has great sounding bass and that genuine JBL sound but definitely amplified. The shoulder strap makes it ideal regarding easy mobility.

I was looking for a new speaker and was going back and forth between JBL and Bose. I have always been a Bose guy but this speaker is so clear, clear, and sharp I most likely will be a long time customer. I love having the carry strap just wish it had a smaller handle too. Still five stars.

I have had my extreme 4 for approximately one month and the sound just amazes me. The speaker has the deep rich signature JBL sound that JBL speakers are known for. The louder the speaker the better it sounds, my football tailgates are so much better with this speaker!

I just got it yesterday and it can make noise for the whole car. You can hear a little bit of it if you are outside the car door is closed which is honestly impressive to me. My friends have told me that there is more bass in this model of Extreme, if you haven't owned a midsize speaker I would definitely pick this one over the Extreme 3 and that's coming from someone who owned the 3. Great battery life also.
