Extreme out for a walk.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the JBL Extreme 4 a few weeks ago and so far it is performing great.
The audio is top notch JBL quality we have to expect over the years. Bass
notes are unbelievably deep from such a small enclosure! This thing thumps!
Extreme 4 arrived will packaged as most of their products,setup was super easy and quick.
My android phone was supplying the music in less than a few minutes.

One bit about the JBL App...
The JBL Portable App works well. I will say JBL needs to spend a little more time on the
app development.JBL has a few apps and they only work with certain products they have.
I wish they had one app that could control all their speakers! Its a pain to start 1 app
and then find out it can't connect because its the wrong app!
Something that bugs me is once you're playing a song,you cant adjust the equalizer on the fly!
You can't add treble or bass while listening.
One other quirk,when you increase the volume past the phone's high volume limit,
the speaker cuts out for a second...

Back to the Extreme...
Really great sound! The bass hits hard and the highs are quite sharp. Really emphasizes the bass.
The midrange voices seem to pop out of nowhere!
We took the speaker out on a few walks and its form-factor is really comfortable.
JBL includes a high quality shoulder strap that puts the speaker in a great position in the small
of your back to comfortably carry and listen to it while walking. Although the speaker appears
a little large or heavy to walk with,its really not! We were very pleased.
While we were out one day,it started to drizzle and I didn't freak out as the speaker is waterproof.
The rain didn't affect the audio quality at all.

I have a JBL Clip,an older JBL Flip 4 and now this speaker. If there will be more than myself listening,
definitely the Extreme 4 is coming along! Its great at the backyard BBQ,the tennis court,
even time out on the boat or beach because its waterproof!
Nothing bad I can say about the build quality or the audio of the Extreme 4,just wish the app
was a little more useful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t usually run around town with these kinds of speakers, but I feel with the strap this one is a win, either while riding a bicycle or just hanging out at the park or in the backyard. I was very impressed with the packaging and the folding handles built into packaging were genius. Unboxing it, I was pleasantly surprised with a full size charging block and not just a simple usb-c cable.
Now onto how it sounds. Most times Bluetooth speakers over-emphasis bass, this one does not! It’s quite impressive how well composed the sound is and the ability to control and modify 5 bands of eq in the app is awesome. Flat curve was pretty good but a small bit of tweaking and you can dial it right in. Overall very happy with the smooth playback despite it being over a Bluetooth signal.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This speaker sounds as good as it looks on the package… bumping bass, great in an open air environment or it can fill a garage or barn with the benefit of portability via a handy shoulder strap. Slightly on the heavy side, however this thing is built to take a tumble. Don’t be shy, use it, abuse it and enjoy the 24hr charge life!
So buy it, unpack it, pack it back up and unpack it again! Then your ears can do the rest.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this 4 days ago, and it's the best thing I have ever got. It has a swap able battery, you can use Auracast and partyboost, 24 hours battery, AI boost and more... How cool is that! Anyways it's the best speaker I ever have! Definitely worth spending all my birthday money for it. I can finally connect my JBL Charge 6 with Auracast and my Flip 5 with partyboost

Strong Bass, Annoying Interruptions

The sound quality is good with strong bass, but the speaker often glitches with interruption noises. The only fix is disconnecting a second device or restarting the speaker, which is frustrating and disappointing for the price. The very versatile Xtreme 4

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First thing first let’s appreciate the detail and build quality of this beautiful powerful speaker. Unboxing this beast is always top notch with the beautiful packaging known from JBL. It comes with a usb type C AC charging cord. Instruction manual and a pretty nice looking adjustable carrying strap. After giving this speaker a full charge which didn’t take long. Before unplugging it. I tested it plugged in to AC power for an added boost in sound. From playing hip hop to rock and more fast paced EDM the Xtreme played it nice and clear and didn’t distort when I turned it up. Bass was solid and the passive bass radiators were moving some air. This thing gets loud even when I went portable and took it out to the park. The wide carrying strap made it easy to walk around or when I saw a nice tree branch I looped it on there with no problem and did a quick workout. Also it’s IP67 so it can handle the Xtreme elements outside especially here in Texas. Another cool and I think is a first for the Xtreme is they added a removable battery to extend the life even more since all batteries lose charge over time. Just knowing I can buy a new battery and bring it back to life again is a major selling point for me. Also with the JBL portable app which I used for different types of music I play. It has 4 to choose from and a custom EQ to customize to your liking. Also has a feature to boost the battery called Playtime boost. It pretty much turns off most of the bass to extend playtime. Would be cool if the speaker had a button on it to activate it or even a button on top for the EQ. But overall I really loved the Xtreme 4 and I’m sure you will too!

Amazing mid-size speaker!

Starting off with the dimensions of this speaker, it's hefty but totally handable even with small hands. The included carrier strap is super helpful. That is another thing I love about the Xtreme 4 is it's impressive size as the it doesn't waste any of it. It's fully loaded with speakers and it totally packs a punch. Highs and mids are solid, and bass is punchy without sounding muddy.
The one thing I was slightly underwhelmed by was it's volume. In a large room, under fifty percent will do you more than fine, but take it outside and you're going to have to crank it beyond that to have it reach far. Another slight misfortune is that you cannot connect it to other Connect+ speakers, only 'party booster' ones.
But over all, I would absolutely suggest this speaker if you're an avid party go-er. Friends of mine commented on it and they said they loved the look and sound of it. Definitely an eye catcher!

At the time of reviewing this, it’s not in the app, the sound is very clear and the bass booms! The battery is amazing and having it IP67 is a wonderful bonus for out door events! I highly recommend
