Don't buy it. Product is not as advertised

We bought this TV for our bedroom, really liking the notion of having it look and function like a picture when not in use. The 1st thing we noticed when the TV was being installed, was the cord. I can not find a single picture anywhere on Samsung.com or Etsy, or Google, etc, that show a cord coming out from behind this TV. Turns out, the low profile design requires a massive 14inx5inx3in box the TV needs to plug into to connect to the wall. No way that will fit behind the TV when mounted on a wall in place of a picture. In fact, we have a specific wall built for the TV with an outlet 6ft high, so the cord will not be seen behind the TV. Except we can't use it. So 1st impression of the aesthetics is terrible, and not at all how it is advertised. In fact, one could argue Samsung has falsely advertised this TV with their marketing images and lack of description of the box.
2nd, while the image quality and matte screen are the quality we expect from Samsung, the actual reality of the display has been disappointing. The photo images are backlit so much, that in a dark room, the TV picture still lights up the whole room. Not good for sleeping. They have a motion sensor setting, which turns the image off, until the dog runs in or someone gets up for the bathroom at night. Then, lights up whole room. So now we just keep it off, and now it just looks like a TV on the wall, with a cord running out, and a brown colored frame that does not really go with the solid black screen. It's actually ugly.
All in all, super disappointed, and would not recommend this TV because it is not as advertised. Just buy another Samsung TV for half the price, or even another brand for 1/3 the price, and you'll be just as good and get a better value and experience. Plus with Google app, you can still upload a photo.
We are pulling the TV off the wall, putting a picture back up, and now just using the "Picture Frame" TV as an ordinary overpriced gimmick TV.

The Frame TV comes with a One Connect Box, allowing you to connect your components to one separate box, not to the back of the TV. Your TV is connected to the One Connect Box with the One Invisible Connection – a translucent cable allowing you to place your TV accessories wherever works best for you.

To adjust the brightness In Art mode, press the Select button on the remote, then go to Screen Settings. From there, you can adjust the brightness to your liking.

Please also make sure you've got the latest firmware version installed on your TV. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

How do I explain how much I hate this device? It turns on BY ITSELF in the middle of the night. It will not let me upload photos for the frame, it takes an engineering degree to figure it out. DO NOT BUY! Frustrations continue!

We appreciate you sharing your experience. If your Frame TV automatically turns on when left in Art Mode, it may be due to the SmartThings app, as your TV may still communicate with the SmartThings server even if the TV has been turned off. You can prevent this issue by temporarily removing the TV from the SmartThings app on your connected phone.

1. On your connected phone, navigate to and open the SmartThings app.
2. Tap the Devices tab, then tap the Home icon, and then select the location with your TV. Swipe through the rooms to find your TV, and then touch and hold your TV.
3. Tap Edit, and then tap Remove device. Tap Remove to confirm.
4. Please make sure you have Auto Updates enabled: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update. When the upcoming firmware update is available and installed on your TV, you can re-add your TV to the SmartThings app.

Bad Deal

I bought the Frame 84 inches and within 1 month, there was a black line running horizontally across the screen that requires replacing the entire TV. Understand that's quite common. Wouldn't buy any Samsung TV again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Waste of money

Garbage TV. Refuses to connect to our wi-fi about 50% of the time. Every other tv in the house (even the ten year old tv) is just fine with the wifi. Mediocre picture quality (when it does connect to wifi). Avoid this tv.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Wi-Fi connectivity on your TV. This may be caused by a network issue. You might want to go through these steps to check your network connection:

1) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (Wi-Fi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.)

2) If the wireless connection fails, connect the TV to the access point via a LAN cable. If the TV can connect to the Internet normally via the wired connection, there might be a problem with the access point. In this case, try using a different access point.

3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem. Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test

4) Try a cold reboot of your TV by pressing and holding the power button for 5+ seconds until the TV turns off and on again.

5) Please also be sure you have the latest firmware update. You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

Nice frame + TV

Looks beautiful. Surprising how digital photos look like print photos on it. Has an app with extensive controls. The remote is solar powered (need to put bottom up), which is nice.

The things I love about this tv is the non-reflective screen, so no more glare from windows. The standby "art mode" really does look like a painting. Sound quality is brilliant and image is crisp and clear. The free channels are also a great bonus.
Negatives would be the wall bracket, which you cant easily adjust once up. So make sure you get it dead straight. I wanted to get a frame but when I saw them in the store, I thought they looked cheap and nasty. Over priced too, for a piece of plastic. Unfortunate, because its a good idea.
We've had some trouble with our tv (rebooting itself and distorted channels) and although the Samsung support line is very good. It seems we have to do regular factory resets. Not sure if we just have a dud tv or this is normal. With only 12 months warranty it is a bit worrying that it might fail shortly after it expires.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Finally, a tv that can blend into your home decor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this TV with the Pre-order special pricing. I have been using it now for the past 3 months and am very happy with it. I haven't mounted it to the wall yet because the final location is not ready, but I love how it looks with the additional add-on frame wrap. It looks like a painting and is about the thickness of a framed painting. Super thin. The quality is excellent! This has the matte anti-reflective coating so the lights don't glare when viewed at an angle or when the blinds are open letting sunlight inside. It works great for gaming as well as watching movies. And the fact that I can have the art mode with paintings, or even custom photographs allows this TV to become part of the decor instead of just some useless black square. Very pleased with this purchase. If you want a thin, 4k tv that can become "invisible" so to speak (since it can become a painting on the wall and not look like a normal tv) then this is for you.
