I need Sunglasses to see this TV!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Incredibly bright is the first thing that comes to mind.
The QN55S90D is indeed a beautiful QD OLED panel with colors and brightness that are out of this world. First thing is first, talking about color accuracy with another OLED TV. To my eyes, the pictures you see below don’t do it justice. The TV on top was calibrated, the S90D was using Movie mode, and the scene came alive. I don’t know if the director’s intention was to have a green cast, but with the S90D I’m not seeing that.
In terms of gaming, you get an expansive set of support options, things like HDR/HDR10+, a dedicated and slimmed down Gaming-focused menu that lets me make changes easily and on the fly, and a customizable Gaming Motion Plus setting which helps games look and feel smoother.
On the audio, there’s intelligent and Amplify modes which allow you to feel audio as if it was working around you, not just coming from speakers in front of you. It’s actually kinda crazy to listen to a show with it off and then hear it again with it on.
The setup was also very easy, completely tool-less. The legs slide in, and the cover slides in where the legs are. Boom, just like that your setup is complete. It’s surprisingly light weight, and the frame feels sturdy. The back of the TV feels like it has some sort of metal and the lower back of the TV is made of plastic that feels solid; though I wish it felt a little bit more premium, but it isn’t a knock on the quality.
Overall, the TV has left me astounded. I already loved my original OLED and I thought it already was as good as it could get. This TV took it up a giant leap. Colors pop, the 144hz (for PC Gaming) is a huge plus for having a better resolution and keeping up with higher frames in games. VRR/ALLM and AMD Freesync Premium help make for an elevated gaming experience. Easy accessible menus and ease of use making changes to the settings are a bonus. The control is intuitive and again, very easy to use. The “Home Setting” is streamlined, and runs extremely fast thanks to the new NQ4 AI Gen 2 Processor. Nothing feels slow when scrolling. The setup is super easy and can be done within a minute, the build quality is also very good, although the plastics could feel a bit more premium.
Overall, this TV serves its purpose. I wanted it to beat my original OLED and it was able to do that soundly.
If you are looking for a high-end premium TV, do yourself a favor and get this!

An incredible entertainment device

I jumped in right away and got the QN55S90D as soon as I could, was excited to see what upgrading my TV would get me in 2024 and how a modern OLED tv would work in my situation.
The quick summary is that I love this TV, I’m using it in a bright room and have none of the issues I thought I would have when using an OLED TV in my situation. There are many benefits, but to me the biggest surprise benefit is the off-angle viewing. I used to have an LED TV where I have this one, and never realized how much better the picture could look. Every day when I glance at it from the side, I’m still impressed with how good it looks. With the fantastic picture quality, the off-angle viewing, the easy to use wonderful gaming hub, and all the other advantages, I’m now planning to purchase a second much larger one for the living room. It’s a great television and a great entertainment hub.
Installation and setup were easy and straight forward. The removal from the box was easy, but I recommend going slowly, the TV is very thin and use care to lift it only where directed to in the quick setup guide. The base was very simple to install and I like that Samsung gives you clips to route the power and signal cables around so the install looks clean and neat. After that it was turn on the TV, select the language and then scan a qr code with my phone to log into my account. My Samsung account already had all my services and apps in it, so I just used those for my new TV and I was done. A few picture adjustments I like to make and log in to a few TV apps I like to use and my TV was set up and ready to go.
I tested it with streaming services to see how well it upscaled and was just blown away with how fast, sharp and clear the upscaling was across multiple sources and services. The sound from the TV was great and if I didn’t already have a sound system I probably would have not bought one, since the sound was good enough for me from just the speakers, but I have a sound system and so I am going to use it. But it’s not really necessary because to me the sound from the speakers was surprisingly good. The HRD/HDR10+ content I watched and the AI upscaling was really good, better than I would have imagined before I got this TV.
I was planning on buying another console to use with this TV, to take advantage of the game features of this tv, the 144Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium, game mode and so on, but then I opened up the gaming hub, connected my standard xbox controller via the Bluetooth 5.2 connection and with my game pass subscription I started playing my game pass games. I thought it would only handle simple games, since they were being cloud streamed but no, I was playing all of my games just like if I was on the console. Had a great time and loved it. Now just waiting to get in trouble from the better half because I have a Xbox controller sitting in front of “her” new TV.
Just to summarize once again, Great TV, love the picture, love the gaming Hub, haven’t got to try to use the SmartThings hub yet, but will be setting that up when I can take myself away from gaming. I will be buying another larger one for the family room you can count on that.

Mind blowing picutre

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tv is beautiful. Upon unboxing the Samsung S90 series, you see exactly how thin the tv is. Putting the stand on the tv is easy. The inputs are on the back and side, so they will work well with any type of wall mount. The setup went flawless with the smart things app. Just logged into my Samsung account and the app did everything. It setup my soundbar, and all my game consoles and labeled them appropriately. The colors and contrast on the tv are mind blowing. The blacks are pitch black, and there is no white light bleeding onto the black background. Our family watches lots of movies and tv shows, and also games together. All the most popular apps are available and you can also game straight from the tv without an Xbox console or pc. Xbox game cloud and GeForce Now are both available and work flawlessly. Connecting gaming controllers is easy and you are able to to connect a myriad of other Bluetooth devices as well. I connected a pair of offbrand bluetooth headphones easily and was able to game and watch tv with 0 issues. When I put the headphones back in the case, the volume switched immediately back to the soundbar without any hiccups. My only critique of the tv is that 2 of the mounting holes for a wall mount are located beneath where the tv stand legs attach. It just makes it a little harder to hang it after you put the legs on, so just keep that in mind. Overall, it exceeds my expectations in every category. Easy setup, does everything I want it to and more. Wish I would have bought one earlier.

OLED Contender of the Year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I couldn’t wait to unbox and view Samsung’s new 2024 OLED S90D. I was super excited to see what OLED technology is all about. Years past OLED technology was super expensive. Fast forward to today, the prices is more consumer friendly. The first thing that stood out was the razor thin frame or LaserSlim as Samsung calls it. I love the placement of the stand as it’s easier for placement on a standard tv stand. As soon as I turned on the S90D, I could see right away what I’ve been missing. The vividness and clarity are the best I’ve ever seen in comparison to other televisions I’ve owned. The deep blacks, and vibrant colors while watching movies is awesome. Even my wife notices the difference of how good the OLED experience is. Some of the best features that really stood out are:
Integration of Samsung Health – One of the main reasons for getting this TV. The family is really focused on health, and this television offers so many built in options, we love it.
The Gaming Hub – This is my second favorite experience. There is so much entertainment built into the Gaming Hub. I paired my Bluetooth controller and signed in to the different gaming apps and was able to play console free for hours.
The list of features is pretty long so I had to pick a few below.

So thin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really surprised how thin the screen is. It is almost too thin and makes you hesitant to try to move it around. There almost needs to be a shipping support structure that sits on it until you have it in place and can be used if you need to move it around.
The set up was relatively easy, though I was surprised it could not find my cable provider. Auto recognizing Google Chromecast made what has been a problematic experience much simpler as was auto adding the app, both for Chromecast and Amazon Fire box.
I thought it would control my Samsung sound bar, but it doesn't seem to.
I don't particularly care that the cable interface is through an app instead of one of the inputs like on our other Samsung TV's.
I like the number of HDMI inputs.
Overall good quality picture.
The solar charging remote is a "Duh, why doesn't everyone do this." feature that just make sense.

Smart TV – Exceeds Expectations!

Ease of setup- Everything just snapped together, the stand, and the stand to the TV.
Log into my existing Samsung Account – one-two-three.

Log into my existing Cable Account- The same easy peasy !!!!!

Then I began to play around with the Samsung voice-activated Solar powered Remote Control– and everything was humming away and working flawlessly !
I ran it through it tests….running all kinds of TV shows, Movies, Videos, I spend equal time with YouTube and Cable.
The COLOR jumps off of the screen – The color is Vibrant – Bright – so much different than my previous TV.
The colors are real – warm and you can see the difference in the grass, the sky, the drone views of a city.
The picture fills the 55 inches of the TV.
The best reason for all is my standard Cable Remote which was set up for my old TV and Sound Bar – WORKS PERFECTLY- without any modifications or new codes needed. One Click the TV goes on, Two clicks the Sound Bar goes on, That is it…I don’t have to use any other remote for operations! WOW! Fantastic! And the reverse works…One click sound goes off, Two clicks the TV shuts off. This never worked with the old equipment – I would have to use the original remote to shut off the sound and TV.
AND the Sound – I added a new Samsung Sound Bar with Surround Sound – wow – the entire room is filled with sound.
I tried a number of YouTube Test Videos – 4K, 8K, 12k, HDR – The Screen was so very bright and clear, and clean.
I viewed the reruns of the Eclipse – Commercial TV and NASA TV – The DIAMOND ring was Whiter than White – it was so vibrant- I could not believe my eyes.
Obviously, I love the new TV – it has so many more features that I have not begun to use. There are so many built-in APPS – AppleTV+, Paramount+, Alexa, Bixby, YouTube, Music, Disney+, Hulu, Videos.
I can’t wait to keep trying and using this outstanding, state-of-the-art

Phenomenal TV!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First I'll start with the picture which is one of the best I've seen so far. I always heard that OLED TV's tend to be too dark, but I found that not to be the case at all. Second was how incredibly easy it was to set it all up, it literally took me less than five minutes to set up everything to where I needed it to be. Third is the audio quality, which is excellent, even without having a soundbar, although adding a soundbar puts it over the top. As for the Tizen OS, I'd say it's good, but it can be overcomplicated sometimes while trying to locate basic functions, but it's manageable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just purchased the new 55” Samsung S90D OLED 4K Smart TV and let me just start off by saying this TV is super bright. We have the TV in our master bedroom and let me say the colors and the brightness is extraordinary. The contrast and the deep blacks makes HDR+ pop out at you. The Tizen OS is pretty snappy and is feature packed. We also have Samsung’s latest sound bar, so Q-symphony adds a more immersive sound element. Having four HDMI 2.1 ports allows us to have all our external devices and next-gen consoles hooked up. My most favorite feature is being able to place calls to the TV from my phone by using the ConnecTime app. The second most favorite app is Samsung health. I love how my Galaxy watch syncs with the Samsung Health app on the TV. Game Hub has several cloud based gaming apps that allow console gaming without the console. This TV has it all. Samsung has taken the crown for OLED of the year with this OLED panel. This television has everything I was looking for and more. I recommend going see this OLED TV in person to witness the vivid colors.
