The lightning and magnification are

The lightning and magnification are flattering and functional. After using it for 18 months, I would buy another tomorrow if I had to. I use it in a clean, dry environment and have experienced absolutely no issues with the sensor.

I love my new simplehuman lighted makeup mirror. It has amazing clarity and holds the charge for a long time. It’s beautiful on my vanity and I love how it automatically turns on and off. I was so impressed that I also bought the travel size.

Unfortunately the mirror’s lighting system did not work when it arrived. While I can’t comment on its functioning, I can mention that this is not a good height for a standing mirror used on a bathroom sink counter- you would need to stoop a little in order to see your face. This is best for use on a vanity with a chair.

Great mirror if you get one that works

This mirror is super sleek, has a beautiful light, and helps with applying makeup with precision. This being said, my first mirror only maintained a charge for 30 minutes to 1 hour total until I had to recharge it. The company boasts a 5 week charge. I ended up just keeping it plugged in all of the time because I knew the battery would inevitably die after 1 to 2 uses. I ended up having to ship the mirror back to simplehuman to get a replacement because the battery never lasted longer than an hour. This warranty process took about two weeks. I have had the replacement mirror for 1 week now, and it seems to hold a charge. My first mirror also functioned well for about two weeks until the battery life drained, but hopefully this one is reliable. According to other reviews on simplehuman’s website and other approved vendors, short battery life is a semi frequent issue, so if you purchase this mirror, be prepared to use the warranty.
