I’ve never been more excited about a garbage can like this one. Owned a simply can many many years ago from a gift. Needed to upgrade to a bigger one, oases my old can down to a child in dorm. Love the style an color an size of my new one. Very Happy!!!

Quite a big step up from the run of the mill can, with a smooth, quiet opening action. Easy to clean, and having the bag dispenser in the can is pretty handy! Love it!

Very Good, A Few Flaws

This is a very well-made and "luxurious" garbage can. The lid closes nicely. We opted for the plastic lid (so that it doesn't get dented) and it is plenty attractive. The 45L is larger than expected, serving a family of 5 well. I have two tolerable complaints - the inside of the garbage can is not lined with plastic or anything else. It is one layer of stainless steel. This is an issue because if you try to, say, empty coffee grounds or the sink strainer and you want to bang it against the inside of the garbage can, you're hitting the stainless steel directly. I've dented Simple Human garbage cans in the past, so this concerns me and is an inconvenience. The other issue is that the lid closes and sits flush against the top of the garbage can. This means that it isn't possible to open the lid with your hand. You must use the foot pedal. Sometimes I just want to grab the lid with my hand and not maneuver my body into the right position to get my foot on the pedal. Not a huge problem, but something I wish wasn't an issue. Overall, a lovely garbage can with a few inconveniences.

This is the second can I've had, and I probably liked the first one better, simply because it was bigger. With that being said the Simplehuman cans are amazing! And I love the black stainless I ordered. The smaller can has definitely grown on me and the liner(bags) are the ultimate trash bag! Simplehuman customer for life; Yes it's that good:)

Perfect trash can for my small apartment.

I wanted to get the bigger one with the motion sensor, but due to limited size of my apartment I got the small one with classic step. I love how it's so slim AND fits so much trash inside. The step is so smooth I can't even hear the lid closing! One thing I wish is that it'd be easy to open with hands for a quick drop, but it's also accessible with the foot paddle. Overall, very satisfied with the can, and the customer service as well. I've had a defective lid, but it was immediately replaced using the 10 year warranty. No trouble at all!
